Rico’s Lechon at SM Mall of Asia provides a decent dining experience with a few notable highlights and areas for improvement. The food overall is satisfactory. The vegetables served were fresh and flavorful, which stood out positively. However, the lechon, the restaurant’s signature dish, fell slightly short of expectations, being acceptable but not exceptional. I arrived at around 6:10 PM when the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only a few other customers. Despite this, the waiting time for the food was unexpectedly long, about 25 minutes, which could be improved for better efficiency. On the bright side, the staff were attentive and accommodating. When an incorrect order was brought to my table, they resolved the issue immediately and with professionalism. The pricing is reasonable, offering fair value for the quality and portion sizes provided. While the restaurant’s ambiance is pleasant and well-maintained, quicker service would enhance the overall experience, especially during quieter hours. In summary, Rico’s Lechon at SM MOA offers a mix of good service and reasonable prices, though the lechon could be better and the wait times shorter. It’s worth visiting if you’re in the area, but it might not fully satisfy die-hard lechon enthusiasts.

Rico’s serves straightforward, traditional Filipino food with no pretensions, just the way we like our local comfort dishes. The balbacua was flavorful, though the beef could benefit from a bit more tenderizing. The baked scallops were enjoyable, but a few were unfortunately overcooked. The grilled daing na bangus had decent flavor, though its size was smaller compared to servings at other Filipino restaurants. On a brighter note, the pinakbet was a standout, prepared with high-quality fermented shrimp paste (bagoong) that mase it really delicious - one of the best we’ve ever tasted apart from those we tried in Ilocos a few years back. Where Rico’s falls short is in its service. It took over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. However, the silver lining was that all the dishes were served simultaneously, allowing us to enjoy everything together. Overall, Rico’s is worth a visit if you’re craving traditional Filipino comfort food, but patience with the service might be necessary. Their pricing is also on the high side relative to the serving sizes.

Once is enough for me. We went for dinner on a Saturday, ordered pinakbet, lechon, and lechon sisig. There was no front desk so we took the liberty of sitting ourselves. Staff fear eye-contact with the customers so ordering was inconvenient. We were informed that the waiting time was 20 mins for the order to be served - 20 mins was no big deal, however 40 mins passed and still our order was not complete. The staff was in total disarray, if we didn’t follow up our orders they would’ve probably never come. The taste of the lechon wasn’t the best, serving sizes were pretty small for the price. I expected a bigger serving for 270php worth of pinakbet and some more quality tasting lechon for roughly 700php. While dining the staff also accidentally broke a tray of glasses - it was crazy. And later they were making excuses that they were understaffed etc. Well if they controlled the staff-customer ratio through proper seating then staff shouldn’t be in disarray in the first place. Anyway - dine at your own risk.

When visited this resto for a dinner last 4th June'2022, Saturday it was a disappointment of how the store personnel's (the store usherette, the waiter, and the cashier) handled our food orders. 1st: When already ordering our food choices, its frustrating that in 3x strike it was not available! The lechon, the veggie kangkong, and the halo-halo. (Unsolicited suggestion: please tell upfront your customer what are already unavailable in the menu while still outside the waiting area reading the menu list. Not allowing the customer seated in a table then answering almost all not available the customer favorite choices in the menu 🤕 2nd: They let us waited for ages and no one care's to give us an update for how long years should we be waiting to received our food orders; every personnel just passing through in front of our table 😠 3rd: The worse part; I approached one of the waiter that was cleaning on one of the table and humbly requested to follow up our food orders. As observed, this waiter guy also passing through n-times on our table as if no one seated 😡 I approached him again and asked what's the status and his reply that "someone from the food counter will advise to us"! 🤯 (In my mind, it became a ping-pong responsibility in their team).

I have no issues in Rico's Lechon Glorieta and Teindisita branch even during peak hour.

I hope that the owner or management in Rico's Lechon SM MOA will re-training again their store personnel on how to elevate the customer service satisfaction. Because I'll be back again one day if there's already an...

I’ve been living in Cebu for 18 years. I was not expecting that this branch would be so disappointing. I always told my partner we should try Ricos coz the lechon is great. So my partner, his family and I tried it yesterday during dinner time.

The Lechon and paklay were great. But the singing salmon head was worse, the vegetables weren’t cooked. When we follow up on the sinigang soup it’s so obvious they just put it directly all the uncooked vegetables into the soup so they can serve it to us directly. And the pancit was too salty.

To the cashier, our total bill was 4068 to be exact. So I gave them a debit card and 100 pesos cash so she could charge the card 4k only and the 68 pesos on the cash. She brought the card to the cashier area and saw her the 100 pesos had been dropped in their tip box. To my surprise, she charged all the bills to the card. Please next time ask first and make things clear! but I'm pretty sure she heard what I'm saying coz she's in front of me.

Our 4k bill wasn't worth it. My partner regretted why we chose this restaurant, we rather go to the buffet instead. We won’t go back to this branch anymore. Not...
