The hotel is located near the new airport. In fact, they offer free shuttle rides to and from the hotel. The staff are very very nice and they even helped us book a van going to and from El Nido (with hotel pick up). You can even book your Puerto Princesa tours there. The pool was really nice and photogenic, even at night. There are nice restaurants and drinking places within walking distance from the hotel. There is even a Thai massage place (Nuat Thai) in front. Breakfast was surprisingly good, but a bit inconsistent. During our first day, it was plated. But on the last day, it was a buffet. The only concern that we had was when we booked through them for a van ride from El Nido to Puerto Princessa with hotel drop off. When we rode the van, we weren't informed that they will not be dropping us off at the hotel anymore. Instead, the last stop was at the terminal. So we had to ride the tricycleto go back to the hotel. We told the front desk what happened and they offered us a full refund but we had to get it at the travel agency the next day, which was quite a hassle for us since our flight was at 8:45 AM. Basically there was lack of communication from them with regards to the van transfer. Overall, it was an okay stay at this place.

This is definitely NOT the prettiest hotel of Puerto Princesa as featured by the Lonely Planet. It may have been nice at the begining, but the lack of maintenance led to a lackluster hotel on the verge of decay. The lack of a good ventilation in the room, even with the presence of a balcony is a terrible cocktail for rust and mold formation. (See pics attached). As soon as you enter the room, you have that moldy smell. The mold is everywhere in the bathroom : on the walls, on the ceiling, on the pipes, the seals. The cleaning is is not done properly (Dead bugs everywhere), and the shower just looks grimy. The AC is an old type very noisy model you won't want to turn on if you want to sleep. The welcoming note in the room is stained, which proves they don't care about trying to make things perfect. Finally, the AC in the fitness room is out of order, which means if you need to exercise, prepare to break a sweat in a 30°C atmosphere. Then the straw that broke the camel's back is when they told me they had to check the room before checkout....maybe that's what they should have done before letting anyone get into the room.

We only stayed for one night before our flight. It was OK for that but I would not recommend it for a longer stay. The place has severe cleanliness issues. After traveling in the Philippines for three weeks and staying at super basic cottages as well as nice hotels, this was the first and only place that had not been cleaned properly. This applies to the milky water in the pool that obviously has ph value issues, the gym and also our room.
I took the duvet out of its cover because it was too warm to sleep under. The duvet was full of brown stains and hair. I reported this to the front desk in the morning and they appologized and reported it to house-keeping. However, at a rather new and nicely designed place like this it should not have happened in the first place. Disgusting! The room was full of mosquitos upon arrival. We asked the reception staff for insect spray but they just waved a can at us and said there was not much left. We had to check 3 different stores until we found some ourselves. The next morning we saw some on the cleaning team‘s cart.

The Taal volcano eruption sure put a damper on my travel plans. So I get online to see what hotels are available the next few days. This place was clean, nice, affordable, and close to the airport.|| Because of my travel mishaps, I tried to check in way earlier than the usual check in time. But luckily, they had a room available for me, so I was able to rest. I was exhausted, so I'm SO grateful they let me check in early.|| The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and quiet (with the exception of hearing dogs barking, cats fighting, and roosters crowing, but that was in the early morning hours, and further away.) There is a fridge and safe. Love to keep those bottled waters cold!|| The courtyard as you enter has a bar/club, karaoke place you can rent a singing room for 220P/hour, or get a Thai massage.|| These businesses added to the atmosphere of the hotel, I I really didn't think the music from the club was that loud at all.|| The pool is lovely, but you can ask anyone for pool towels and they'll bring them out to you.|| I LOVED the gym! And it's not one of this cheesy gyms most hotels have, this one is actually for people who workout! It has a punching bag, speed punching bag, free weights, cardio machines, weight machines, etc.|| The restaurant adjoining has breakfast every morning, and you can eat throughout the day. It's good food, but never crowded.|| Getting around was fine. I'd hail a tricycle just like a cab, and a ride anywhere should cost you $1-3. Make sure you negotiate ahead of time.|| I booked a day tour on here (trip advisor) and because it's a well known hotel close to the airport, transportation was not a problem.|| I scheduled a van to the airport (complimentary), early morning, and as I checked out, the front desk person said with a big smile as I came down in the door, "We packed a breakfast for you!" WOW!! That was nice, and totally made my morning as I set out to attempt to fly out again for the 3rd time. It was a yummy scrambled egg sandwich on white (but tasted more like a sliced King's Hawaiian white.)|| The location, atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms and facilities are why this hotel is so great. I'd definitely stay...

I booked this place according to the good reviews I read about it . Well I don't really know anymore how honest the reviews are as well as who writes them ...

We arrived on Saturday 4th of March 2017 a friendly driver from the hotel was waiting for us at the airport , the lobby looks great , friendly staff at the check in , everything looked rather promising until we got to our room .

  1. You can clearly hear guests from next door room talking

  2. You can hear the air con from next door room

  3. You can clearly hear people talking while passing by your room as the bathroom has an open small window with a mosquito net ( Deluxe room ) that can not be closed

  4. No fridge at all , ( only suits have a fridge ) we have been kindly offered to pay for a suite room if we wished to have a fridge .

  5. No manager to talk to , she / he was in a nonstop meeting

  6. We had our breakfast around 9:00 am and yet hardly any food was left the few slices of water melon and papaya looked like they were almost ready for the bin .

  7. One of the major issue at One Manalo Place Palawan is that the Air Con is an old one that goes through the wall , no remote control , no action on temperature , we tried to adjust it , asked the staff to adjust it no action was possible . The worst is the noise of this Air Con it sounds like you have a diesel engine in your room .

I am an easy going person , I usually go with the flow but giving an 8 rating for this place is far from being deserved nor justified in any way .

Again I would like to mention that the Staff is Friendly &...
