I'm giving Cafe 80s 5 stars for their food, service and atmosphere, but an overall rating of only 3 stars because of the state of the restrooms. Management needs to pony up and fix/maintain the facilities better, which I guarantee are a memorable turn-off to most patrons. Imagine the tiny restroom on a fully-booked airliner that's 12 hours into a flight, but worse. Aside from the cramped space and poor layout, it's obvious that no one at Cafe 80s was emptying the trash, resupplying the toilet tissues, or mopping the floors, at least not on a Saturday night. In the men's, I had to stand in a puddle of someone else's urine and not even have a paper towel onhand to wipe off the soles of my shoes. In the ladies, my partner had to hold the stall door closed behind her because of an encrusted, faulty latch, and the vanity mirror is literally inches away from one of the two toilet stall doors. Oh, and the trashbin was overflowing and there was no tp or tissue.
But aside from the loos, we really enjoyed our first visit to Cafe 80s on 4 Feb 2023. The upstairs bar featured endless great songs and music videos, plus really tasty food and drink that was reasonably priced, served by waitstaff who always managed to be there when we wanted something more. Oh, and the security personnel were great, too. Quietly efficient and welcoming.
The downstairs section had an absolutely cracking heavy metal group performing when we arrived. The vocalist was hard to hear, but the 2 acoustic guitar players, bassist and drummer backing him up were nothing short of outstanding. I am not really a huge fan of the heavy metal genre, but this group was good enough that we listened for the better part of an hour before heading upstairs for food, drinks and dancing. The nachos were some of the best I've ever eaten, as were the fish&fries.
Anyway, get yourself over to Cafe 80s and check it out. I know we'll be back there soon, hopefully with a 5-star review once they've fixed their embarrassing...
Read moreWe were drawn to this bar by the allure of 80's music and chose to sit at the bar, ordering two San Miguel Lights. The menu listed them at 95 pesos each, but we were charged a total of 300 pesos. When we questioned the discrepancy, the waitress became visibly upset, making hand gestures to the bartender and eventually yelling. It became clear that there was an attempt to overcharge us, which seemed to be based on our status as foreigners. Shortly after, the waitress informed us that the seats were reserved and abruptly asked us to leave. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and distinctly targeted as outsiders. The local patrons also seemed to share this dismissive attitude, laughing and pointing at us. For a place that seems to prefer local clientele, it might be clearer to explicitly state unwelcoming policies toward foreigners to prevent such unpleasant...

The first time I went here was w my mom. We arrived at around 9pm on a Thursday. I was starting to get bored since the place was too dark and the food was more on the pulutan side. However, lo and behold, when 10:30PM came, the music started to change where customers rose up to their seats then began dancing - it was nice seeing adults dancing the night away (like it wasnt a weekday!) 🤣🤣😅
Staff were prompt - they will immediately get empty plates and clean your table once your done w your other orders. Di ko lang gets yung concept nila na you have to sign everytime you order.
CR for women was very clean also. The first time Ive been here, naabutan ko si Ate na naglilinis ng CR. They also...
