We had pancit bihon sparsely topped with lechon trimmings, together with two orders of dinuguan and a plate of chopsuey. Quite pricey but you'll notice the freshness of the ingredients.
The stir fried chopsuey was especially well executed resulting in crisp and colorful kaleidoscope of veggies. Their dinuguan version was purely made with pork meat swimming in a pool of smooth, silky sauce. It was very good for that particular style, which is a variation from the kind that's made with innards. Certain regions in the Philippines make it "dry" as the sauce is reduced into a curd-like consistency.
The big tray of bihon pancit was flavorful but felt short of lechon toppings. Perhaps, for the same price, they can offer this with more generous "lechon kawali" toppings instead, to be more competitive and for variety. Tossed in the noodles are a decent amount of vegetables, skillfully cooked until al dente in doneness.
The place requires you to speak louder as the piped in music was pumped up and obtrusive. Out of three staff members, one stood out as well trained, while the others were clearly needing more attention from...
Read moreI recently grabbed some food to go from Lydiaâs Lechon (on September 6), and as always, it didnât disappoint. My go-to is their Paksiw na Lechon, which I honestly prefer over plain lechon. The balance of flavors in the paksiw, combined with its savory sauce, just makes it more enjoyable for meâespecially since too much plain lechon can feel a bit too oily.
I also ordered their Fresh Lumpia, and once again, Lydiaâs lived up to my expectations. Their dishes are consistently delicious, which is why Lydiaâs has been my familyâs go-to for lechon for as long as I can remember. Itâs a staple in our celebrations, and honestly, it feels like a part of my childhood on a plate.
Over the years, Lydiaâs Lechon has really evolvedâthough their prices have certainly reflected that! But for me, itâs still worth every bite of that classic lechon...
Read moreIâd only heard about Lydiaâs Lechon before, but never tried it till today. We ordered bopis, 1/2kg lechon, and sinigang na salmon head and belly, all for 3 persons. I liked the bopis the most, it has the perfect balance of sweet and sour that prefer in bopis. I also like the sinigang, though we had to ask them to reheat it since it was served lukewarm. I had high expectations sa lechon kasi itâs what theyâre famous for. The lechon skin was crispy, the meat was flavorful, but was too chewy for my liking. All in all, if youâre craving the classic lechon taste, then Lydiaâs is the go-to place.
PS: I gave the âAmosphereâ a 4 because there was a fly in the resto, it kept on bugging me while I was trying to eat. I donât think it happens...
