We ate here for the first time and their items did not fail us! This place is accomodating even for introverts, since they have tablets dedicated for ordering items and calling for assistance. The staff is very friendly and they would approach you first to teach you how to use the tablet. They are also attentive enough to check and serve water every once in a while. The atmosphere is good and the place is clean, even the floors and restroom.
Their food is superb and is bursting with umami. Their food comes in sets (hence Teishoku), so you will be getting your money’s worth because their items are really filling.
Included in the set is their Miso soup which is not too salty, and a salad which is a bit bland for me. We ordered their Katsu Toji Teishoku and Sukiyaki Teishoku and we recommend to try. 😋 Their Katsu Toji is not soggy so we know it was prepared on the spot, not too salty and is perfect with the Tamago yaki. Their Sukiyaki is filled with ingredients, lots of mushrooms and veggies and a good amount of beef. Highly recommended to try! You can eat the beef as is, or dip it with the runny egg provided. The udon is chewy and cooked just right, and goes well with the broth. Their Kori Matcha is on the creamy side. If you prefer a more matcha taste, this drink may not be for you. We enjoyed pouring the milk on the matcha cubes. We suggest pouring it when the cubes are melted around 70-80% so it wont spill, and drink it once most of the cubes have melted. 😌
We enjoyed the food and service of the staff. We’d surely...
Read moreI have been seeing this Yayoi (Yah-yoh-E) for quite sometime now and the chance was finally here. I ordered the Sweet & Savory Tori Mix Toji a combination of chicken katsu, sukiyaki beef and shrimp tempura simmered in their house signature tonkatsu sauce drizzled with Japanese mayo having side dishes of steamed rice, potato salad scoop and a small portion of pickled cabbage. I had the soup upgraded from plain miso to clams in miso broth. It was a surprise as I didn’t know that clams would go well with the broth of fermented soybeans. All the meat in one bowl was very filling, the house tonkatsu sauce made all the difference as sweet, salty and savort were all present and really goes well with the rice. The presentation was well thought out as they have provided an empty saucer for your portioning and an empty cup for all your discarded shells. Service was superb especially Emmeline and Marcia were so attentive and even helped me out with the tablet ordering process which I may say is very user friendly. I loved my experience and will definitely be back here with the rest of the family to try out more of...
Read moreWe went here March 26 2024 dinner time before Maundy Thursday. It was around 6PM with my 6 friends. I have never seen a Japanese restaurant serve food with such long intervals. My order came first after 20 mins when I got my order which is Katsu curry but we had to wait for another 20 mins to get my friend's last order which is chicken katsudon. We tried to brush it off since the waiters were apologetic for it but for the price we paid it is definitely not worth it. Their condiments, specifically the togarashi, has no spice AT ALL. It does not even have that aromatic taste. For a 500 peso meal + service charge, I did not expect that their togarashi will be fake like i am not kidding I basically poured the whole container and did not feel any spice or change in the taste but just the texture. Hopefully, they find a better togarashi supplier -- one that is original. AND i know what I'm saying when it comes to togarashi because I tasted the same one from shopee and the one from...
