Feels Like Home – A Perfect Stay at Tahanan Resort
We spent our last two nights at Tahanan Resort, and it was without a doubt one of the best parts of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, relaxed, and truly at home. True to its name—Tahanan, which means home in Filipino—this resort offers more than just a place to stay. It gives you a warm, heartfelt experience that makes it incredibly hard to leave.
Although we encountered a small issue upon check-in due to an honest mistake, the staff resolved it quickly and professionally. They were very apologetic and made sure we were taken care of. We never felt neglected or ignored—not even for a second. Special shoutout to Ate Peige, who was exceptionally kind, helpful, and hands-on. Her hospitality truly stood out and made our stay even more memorable.
The resort is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, perfect for anyone looking to relax and recharge. The rooms are spacious, well-kept, and thoughtfully decorated. You can really feel the effort they put into making this place feel cozy and welcoming.
The pool is a highlight—it’s clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a refreshing dip, whether during the day or in the evening. And if you’re more into the sea, you’ll be happy to know that the resort also has direct access to the ocean. They have a staircase that leads down to the sea, allowing guests to enjoy a swim in the saltwater while taking in the peaceful view. It’s such a unique and beautiful feature that added a special touch to our stay.
And of course, how can we forget Kia, their adorable and friendly pet? She’s the sweetest companion—she loves to play, swim, and interact with guests. Saying hi to Kia became a daily highlight for us. She’s part of what makes the resort feel even more like home.
And now, the food—absolutely top-tier. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, clearly made with love and care. Their pizza, in particular, was incredible—crispy, flavorful, and definitely a must-try! From breakfast to dinner, the meals were consistently delicious and satisfying.
What really makes Tahanan Resort special is the people. Every single staff member was warm, approachable, and genuinely happy to help. You can feel that they care about their guests and want everyone to have the best possible experience. Hospitality like this is rare—and it’s what makes this resort unforgettable.
We left with nothing but good memories, full hearts, and a strong desire to come back. If you’re looking for a place where you can feel relaxed, cared for, and at peace, Tahanan Resort is the perfect choice. Thank you again to the amazing staff—especially Ate Peige—and of course, sweet Kia, for making our stay so special.

Read moreStayed here for 6 days and 5 nights. The location is around 2km away from the area of siquijor with a lot of restaurants and bars . Rooms are big and spacious. Bed and pillows are good and we slept well. Tahanan has a great restaurant that serves great sushi and pizza and has happy hour from 2 to 6pm . Was really happy with the food here. The Tahanan special salad , california maki and pepperoni pizza are just some good things to order. The pool is clean and not too cold or warm to swim in. We swam several times and loved that we can just order beer and food as we swim. Staff are polite and respectful and helpful. Just some points to improve maybe is that there are a lot of mosquitoes and bugs in the room and bathroom. We dealt with this with just constant request for anti mosquito spray of room and cleanups by the housekeeping. And very grateful that they do without hesitation. The water in the bath and faucet is deep well water. This is NOT dirty as opposed to what some reviewers are thinking but it is definitely different from the usual water source that's filtered differently. I hope that later on the resort can invest on good filtered water sources. It did not bother us too much but it was definitely different. What I love about Tahanan is the truly rustic island feel of this place and in the evening, the sea breeze is just amazing. So great to experience it with music, cocktails and people you love.i really enjoyed our time in this resort with my partner and...
Read morePOSITIVE King Room was quite big and bed was medium hard. Room comes with two towels Resort has a lot of trees, which is kinda scenary. Restaurant has a nice view. Most of staff was helpful. They let us have bags in reception after check out before heading to port. Possible to rent scooter for 400 php per 24h for and 450 php for 125cc. This is somewhat more expensive than other places.
IMPROVEMENT
Only salt water in shower and tap, which is not ideal. WiFi was unstable and disconnected the whole time. There was a 5 cm gap in main door, which made it possible for ants, lizzards and mosquitoes to enter our room. At this time it is a huge renovation going on, which makes a lot of noise and the feeling you are living in a «ongoing project». This should have been written on the Booking, so we can chose our self to stay at a constructio-site or not. Also, they had a lot of maintance on the water, which took away the water for us several times. When we arrived the room was not vented out and the AC was not running. One of our towels had a huge tear in it, which felt weird for this price. A weird odor/smell of sweage coming and going. Last note was that the toilet was leaking, which made a lot of smell in the bathroom.
All in all I would have accepted some of these things, but to the price of 14,500 pesos for 4 nights it did not feel good enough. And staff could have provided a compensation, for example free scooter or any other non...
