Title: I am reviewing only the Restaurant. The food quality is good, not a noble restaurant, not perfect and the price is high...

Kind and smiling staff Fast serving if they have your order Ambience is ok, no aircon, open air style Good presentation of the product I had the "special pasta" a homemade spaghetti with slow cooked tomato sauce. The spaghetti was self made yes and the sauce was also good not sour, like a standard sauce in a Italian restaurant in Europe, but the price is not worth the money also the portion was not that big for a woman it's enough. You not really taste the high quality it's an European standard pasta. A real home made spaghetti taste much more different in Europe. Here it's only more thick like the products in the supermarket. For this price I expected in Philippines something really special or even a bigger portion would me give a feeling of satisfaction but no. I also had the desert "Torta Al cioccolato" The taste was really good, the cake was warm and juicy and the vanilla ice was good. The portion was unhappily less for the price and I found something in the cake it's a no go, see below or the photos

Less portions You must wait in front until they bring you to a free table, this process taked also too long for a professional high class restaurant. The waiters was not very attentive, yes there was some more guests maybe 70% of the tables was full. There was also enough staff. I get my menu after 5-8 minutes after a waiter asked me if I ordered already.. they have not the eye to analyse the guests and there are maybe only 20 tables The menu card looks bad and unhygienic, there was a hair sealed in and additionally they give a mini special menu with a hand written text, not very professional. There are many solutions for that to make it to a fancy or classy look. In the desert I found a small piece of plastic maybe from packaging, it was small but very annoying for a high class restaurant with high prices

o Conclusion: The food was nice yes, but the portions was less, the service only ok but the plastic in the desert and the high price let me give only 3 stars to this place, sorry. There is no good view, no closed aircon area, it's on the main street far from the city.

Explanation of my votings

Pro Contra o Only for your information

5 Stars: It was really special, you must try it 4 Stars: It was nice, you should try it 3 Stars: Nothing special, you could try it 2 Stars: Try only if you have no alternative 1 Stars: Bad, don't bother trying

To understand... Why do I give 5 stars so rarely? Out of over 365 reviews, I realised that there are no businesses that are 100% perfect. I rate businesses in relation to an area, such as a city and the surrounding area. Most businesses in an area sell similar products of different qualities, and I rate these products up to a maximum of 4 stars. Therefore, I decided to give 5 stars if a business in this region has a unique selling point. This could be a unique product, an awesome view, or cosy surroundings that set them apart from other businesses in the area. Even if their products are not perfect, I can still give a five-star rating if there is something spec...

We had a nice stay here and as a couple, we stayed four nights. Overall everything was nice.

Rooms: The rooms are basic and clean. The shower is a modern power shower and is easy to use and to get whatever temperature you wish. The windows are privacy (reflective) during the day but not so at night so you need to pull the curtain. The balcony is nice and big with a view of Lee the pool area which is really nice. The bed mattress is comfy. The furniture is minimal and basic but does the job.

Staff: We are at the adjoining restaurant two nights, and both times it was nice; one night I had a pizza and the other I had the seafood pasta ‘al dente’. Overall, pretty good Italian food when I compare with Italian restaurants in Ireland or Italy. The staff were very consistently nice and welcoming. They all helped us with any issues/queries or requests we had. We rented a scooter for some of the days too and the staff looked after us with regard to this.

Other: The pool area is nice and chill, but could be kept cleaner due to a lot of bugs constantly drowning in it. However, it was still nice. The place has a generator that kicks in a few seconds after every power cut which was very handy and necessary in this island.

Areas for improvement: A safe for the rooms would be good For the price you pay compared to other more luxurious accommodation, I think breakfast should be included here. It is not much effort for them to provide this, as they are primarily a busy restaurant who does a great trade here. Pool could be cleaned more regularly The area for parking the scooters/bikes near the side door should be upgraded to a hard surface like asphalt or concrete for a safer and easier place for guests to park bikes (gets full often and currently is just soil and rubble on a slope). One small thing was I requested a small jug of milk for the coffee in the room as in Europe we don’t really use creamer much in coffee. I was charged for this. I thought that was a bit mean. The selection of gelatos we thought was quite poor, but maybe it is tailored to local taste. Usually, a gelato counter has a lot of the classics like cheesecake, forest fruits, cookies and cream etc. Water in the rooms probably should be in one big water dispenser with the hot/cold tap (removing need for a kettle also) like many other hotels are implementing in Philippines instead of disposable bottles. Suquijor is supposed to be going more sustainable Amazingly, for a place so busy they actually regressed and got rid of the card machines, explaining that the service they got was not good. I think this is just probably to avoid paying as much tax, like elsewhere in Philippines, and is very inconvenient for tourists. Serious negative...
