Disappointing Experience – Unwelcoming Staff
I love coffee and appreciate a well-crafted cup, but sadly, the experience here left a bitter taste. From the moment I walked in, not one of the staff greeted me with a smile. Everyone looked visibly disinterested, almost bothered by the presence of customers.
When I ordered a latte, I was curtly asked which type of beans I wanted — without any context or explanation. It felt like they assumed every customer was a coffee expert. I politely asked what the difference was, hoping for a bit of guidance. What I got instead was a lukewarm and vague explanation delivered with a sigh and a raised eyebrow, as if answering was a chore.
Throughout my visit, I observed that none of the staff seemed happy to be there. No smiles. No warmth. You’d expect this kind of indifference from a government office on a bad day — not from a specialty coffee shop. I’ve honestly had much friendlier service at Jollibee.
This place feels like a Blue Bottle knockoff, and unfortunately, the service makes it feel even more like a knockoff — one that I won’t be...
Read moreOrdered Spanish Latte Angkan Blend Iced the big size (not the on the go)
Noticed upon arrival of drink that looks like bland and I was right. The proportion of coffee and the other substance seems not right as i taste milk and the condensed more (Lack of coffee). Maybe because I select the bigger size I guess? But I don't think upsizing comes with additional amount could compromise the taste.
Left the beautiful cafe with the sad face as I'm not happy on what I've got. Im just telling myself "baka nachambahan lang ng bad mix" still I have to review this for improvement.
Not happy as I expect too much since it was on the higher price range but I taste some other coffee chain's spanish latte better than this with affordable price. (not to brag)
I hope this help to improve the proportion (mix) as I love the fruity note of the Angkan blend. Maybe I will risk again the next time for the Single Origin (hoping for not bland mix please)
The service is right for a 5 out of 5 and the place is great. Tho not recommended for...
Read moreThis cafe sits at the heart of BGC close to many of the establishments you might run your errands there(such as Uniqlo, High Street, St. Luke's, etc). Great location, I say.
It boasts an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff on a spacious floor that can sit a rough estimate of four(4) laptop users and five(5) couples. Up the stairs and you'll find a mezzanine to cater more diners(up to 15-ish, I think). The comfort room is a premium and I'll leave it up to you to find out. 😉
Their coffee couldn't compete with the best ones BGC could offer but it is good enough to jumpstart your day on caffeine.
Their cheap(in a BGC-sense) pandelitos failed to give me the Filipino middle-class almusal experience to go with my morning coffee. The dense finger-sized bread resembled an old bakery monay more than the fresh pan de sal you'd line up next street(kanto) at 5:30 AM.
I guess the name "Angkan" weighed a little more than the cafe could carry.
Fun fact: the cafe was named "%"(as in the percent symbol) a...
