A Home Away from Home - MyTown New York Rating: 5/5 stars I recently had the pleasure of staying at MyTown New York, and I must say, it's been an amazing experience! The staff, particularly Ms. Mary and Ms. Fren, were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable stay, even when I encountered some issues during my initial move-in. Initially, I was assigned to Room on the 3rd floor (unfortunately, I forgot the exact room number), which had some issues with cleanliness and clutter. The unit had a lot of shoes, clothes, and other items, and my roommate wasn't very considerate. The bathroom was also stocked with cleaning materials, which made me uncomfortable. However, Ms. Mary and Ms. Fren promptly addressed my concerns and relocated me to a cleaner unit that better suited my needs. My new unit, Room 427, was a game-changer! The amenities were top-notch, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job maintaining the building's cleanliness. The workspace was perfect for my work as a full-time DJ and artist, with strong internet (although occasional slowdowns) and excellent services. I loved the peacefulness of the rooftop, and the shower was amazing! The unit's cold aircon was a welcome relief, and when I turned off the lights, it was pitch black and quiet - perfect for focusing on my work. The location was convenient, with easy access to the stairs. What impressed me most was the professionalism and helpfulness of Ms. Fren. She was always responsive and courteous, ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I'd highly recommend MyTown New York to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable place to stay. The microwave and small fridge in the unit were also a bonus, allowing me to heat up my takeaways easily. In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended my booking for another week! I'm already looking forward to coming back next year with a new contract. If you're considering staying at MyTown New York, I say go for it! You won't regret it 😊.

We stayed here for 2 nights and if you are looking for an affordable place to crash for a night, I would say it’s ok, however I wouldn’t recommend for more than that. - Rooms: as you can see in the pictures, the room is very small, the A/C works but it’s non digital and pretty basic (you don’t have a remote and you need to go on top of the bed to adjust it and switch On and Off), there is no place to leave the bags or to put your stuff and belongings (no desk or chair). Besides the room seemed clean, there were cockroaches EVERYWHERE, which was very unpleasant, specifically if you don’t have a proper place to put your things and need to leave them all over the floor. The sound proof is very poor so you will hear all the noise from the streets at night and also if you’re sensitive to light, you need to be aware that the curtains are not very effective. - Bathroom: also very small and basic but seemed clean enough. They provide towels but not shampoo or soap. Also it would be nice to have a little mat to use after showering because the shower area is not separated from the rest of the bathroom and all the floor gets wet. - Amenities: we didn’t use it, but the building has a really nice infrastructure with a cool roof top. There you find a nice pool (with showers and WC), a cool outside area, a gym and a working space with A/C. - Staff: staff is nice, very helpful and smiley. They all spoke a very good english. They were very kind and let us do the check-out 1 hour later (upon previous request). - Location: Situated in a busy and very local area, surrounded by lots of small shops, restaurantes and convenience stores. You can find tricycles easily, buses on the main street (5min. walking), and metro fairly close (20min. walking). Summing up, we could stay here again for a short time and if they fix the issue with the cockroaches.

I booked this for a good price (<Php1000) thru Agoda for an overnight stay. I heard about this place thru another property that I have previously visited, and apparent is under the same management as that of this place. Our room was relatively small, as expected. It has the basic amenities like toiletries, bottled water, towel. There's no TV in the room, but there are appliances like ref, microwave oven. WiFi is alright, and mobile data signal is fast. They provide free access to their gym, and swimming pool. View of BGC's skyline is fantastic. The easiest way to go to this place is thru taxi or Grab; I wasn't able to explore how to commute going here, but I think it is doable. BGC is relatively near the place. Overall, it was a good deal, and I am considering this as my go to on my next trips. Update: Commute going there is doable. There are tricycles a few minutes walk from MRT Guadalupe station or Carousel Bus stop. Through these trikes, one can go to/from this place for only Php25-30/ride.

Disappointing Experience

Our experience was extremely disappointing. I don’t even know where the problem started. We booked through Agoda, and I called OYO customer service to inform them about our late check-in. However, they told me they couldn’t locate my booking. They asked me to contact Agoda, so I did. Agoda coordinated with them, and eventually, I received an email from OYO saying that they had resolved the issue and found my booking.

I thought everything was fine, but then I got two more calls from Agoda saying they still couldn’t resolve the issue. I told them it should be okay since I already received a confirmation email from OYO.

When we arrived at MyTown New York, the receptionist informed us that our booking had been canceled. When I asked why, they simply said, “It’s canceled,” and added that they couldn’t explain further because it was a third-party booking. That was it—no apology, no offer to help, not even a suggestion to rebook as a walk-in guest.

Fortunately, we were able to find another place nearby. The quality wasn’t the same, but at least we had somewhere to stay. Still, I’m extremely disappointed with how this...
