ambiance: good lighting and acoustics; you can hear your table partner even surrounded by others' conversations. the resto was well appointed with tasteful decor. table napkin smelled of bleach though

about the food: onion soup - was a good start to the meal together with the hot and fresh bread escargot - dont order this unless they've improved on their source and/or cleaning process. the seasoning of the snails couldnt hide the silty aftertaste. was so disappointing beef tartare - was really looking forward to this as reviews raved about it and I wasnt able to have tartare when I was in France so was craving it; sadly, the seasoning this time overpowered the beef. felt it had a tad too much capers and was too spicy/peppery for a tartare. the fries it came with were really good though: crispy without being overly oily grilled lamb loin - staff were so nice to accommodate our request for this to be served with roasted veggies as we already had potatoes with the tartare. the meat was cooked really well: tender with the perfect doneness & amount of crusting. veggies were really tasty too though some were a bit mushier than others compli dessert - as we were there for a celebration, staff gave us complimentary desserts: raspberry sorbet, cheesecake, and cream with a wafer. sorbet was really refreshing after all the savory food we ate while the cheesecake was creamy without being cloyingly sweet.

we wanted to order the scallops as well but we were told that it was unavailable at that point (we had a late dinner ) but that the kitchen was trying to find a way to serve it still and that the person doing desserts know how to cook the scallops. we opted to cancel the order then

Dining here was somewhere between underwhelming and disappointing. 3 stars are mainly for the staff as they were really nice, accommodating, and professional. given the pricing vis a vis the overall dining experience, I would prefer a different resto (e.g., Mireio) over Sagana next time I go out...

As one with a typical Asian palate (preferring strong flavors, umami, and a kick) I’m not the biggest fan of French food. My impression is that it’s snooty, bland, and quite old fashioned with the plating. And that’s why Sagana was a pleasant surprise. Food was comforting, flavorful, unpretentious, and tasted as it looked.

I had the escargot and bouillabaisse and had a taste of the tuna tartare and duck with lentils. I enjoyed my bouillabaisse and thought the duck was pretty good too. The escargot though was quite crunchy. Was that sand? I’m not sure. Google says it might not have been soaked long enough to purge the dirt out. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t know much about handling snails.

Service though was superb. The waiters were accommodating and attentive. And the owner did not mind us overstaying and converting our dining table into a boardroom. Some of us even brought in coffee from Starbucks and they were kind enough to transfer our drinks to clear glasses. This is the sort of thing you’ll definitely see the French do only in the Philippines.

Prices were on the higher side, but to me I’d say they were fair.

Would I be replacing my jjampong and 2-way peking duck? Likely not. But this place is a solid 4/5. Will recommend for those looking to try some authentic...

Celebrated post-valentine’s as I was unwell on Valentine’s day. They were kind enough to reschedule my reservation. Too bad we missed their special menu but enjoyed our ala carte orders.

The french onion soup taste was spot on, we asked for it to be split to two hence the smaller portion but generous with cheese. Husband ordered the duck confit with lentils, meat was tender and juicy while skin was crispy. I got the roasted scallop which was cooked perfectly, forgot what sauce it is but it paired well with scallops, the crispy potato was a bit salty. For desserts, we got the creme brulee. We always crack the top with the spoon but the caramelized sugar wasn’t hard enough, still really good, love the extra crunch from the almonds. They have wide selection of drinks but since I’m still under medication didn’t order any, will probably try them next time.

Service was exceptional. We were attentively taken care of from start to end. Servers would refill bread or water and anticipates it when you need to call them.

The ambience inside was romantic. A good place for a date night.

Overall, great experience. Would love to try special...
