Had lunch in March 2022 and it was not a good experience. Almost everything was out of stock and the paella they served was an embarrassment. Very dry rice, minimal ingredients and a dry chicken leg sitting on top of the rice. I chalked it up to lockdown problems. So we gave Las Flores another chance.
Fast forward to Sept 1, 2022. First thing I noticed is how filthy the chairs were. It looked like someone urinated on them. Then, the sangría was out of stock. Then the house red wine was out of stock. They offered an alternative red which they brought chilled. I asked them to return with a room temperature bottle and they did. We wondered why they couldn't just use the red they had in stock to make the sangría. Later on almost at the end of the meal, another server wondered why we were told there no sangría or red wine when she said they had it. Turns out that the sangría maker was attending a staff meeting in the restaurant called by manager in the middle of dinner service.
The tortilla (spanish omelet) was downright awful. It was soupy and tasteless. Nothing like I've ever tasted growing up in Spain. Gambas a la plancha was tasty but overcooked. The salmon was very good and surprisingly properly cooked. The dish came with shredded potatoes on the side and homemade potato chips under the salmon. A bit of potato overkill, but the salmon made up for it.
As is usual in a Filipino restaurant, the staff is courteous and pleasant, but were visibly embarrassed by the problems with this restaurant. It is very poorly managed.
Overall, this is not a place I would recommend. No lo recomiendo. Por supuesto que no parece que los dueños saben nada de...
Read moreAstonishingly disappointing! Did my fair share of research in choosing a restaurant where we can celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and saw this restaurant's glowing reviews. So I expected a lot considering. And what greeted us there was a "reserved" table in the middle of the aisle, near the bar where people and waiters pass us by every minute. Stretch a little and you'll either trip the waiters or get food and drinks spilt on you. Lean back on the chair and you'll ger your head hit by trays and elbows from the bar behind. Also, the airconditioning unit was directly above us and was dripping water on to the table. Absolutely ridiculous place for a table. Asked to be reseated and was told that we would have to wait for a table to free up since it was full. Understandable. But when a table did free up and I asked to be transferred there they said that no, that table was reserved. So we, who were already there, seated at the worst table possible, had to wait again. By this time I was honestly furious and asked another waiter to at least give us the next table that'll free up. So a couple did finish dining, a table next to us and I saw this waiter talk to them, to which I thought, thank you! But then I overheard him tell the couple "... you saved us!" And the couple and the waiter glancing our way. I understand we were bugging them about our seats on a busy night but really? To comment and even share it with other guests? Wow.
So no. The only reason i'm even leaving 1 star was because the food was actually good (or maybe it's because we were starving already) don't really know but would not come back and would not...
Read moreBoyfriend took me here for my birthday. He made reservations yet somehow they managed to give us the worst table in the resto across the bar where servers would squeeze themselves to pass. We requested to be moved twice and they said okay but didn't actually do it so my boyfriend talked to the manager who said that that table was simply the one assigned to us.
I then talked to another server calmly expressing our disappointment, and he apologized and tried to see what he could do. He was able to find us a better table, but not before us overhearing him telling the guests who were sitting there that "they saved him."
We weren't being asshats, we were just hoping to have a better experience than what we were getting, especially considering the premium price point.
The only redeeming part of our experience was the food which we enjoyed (then again that could've been b/c we were hungry already at that point), but that should be a given when you're charging that much.
To conclude: This isn't the place to go to for a romantic dinner. Place gets really noisy (we had to be screaming at each other on that original table they assigned), tables are tight, servers are insincere. Please be careful not to get caught by your customers talking...
