A Frozen Symphony at Gelatissimo, Serendra BGC
Gelatissimo at Serendra BGC, in the heart of Manila, stands out as a diamond in the field of frozen delicacies. It has rightfully earned its place as our go-to spot for gelato, impressing us time and time again with its delightful fusion of Italian tradition and contemporary creativity.
From the moment you step through the entrance, the atmosphere welcomes you with open arms. The crisp, clean design, infused with soft lighting and a warm, soothing color palette, creates an environment that is both luxurious and homey. You are greeted by courteous, friendly staff whose passion for their craft is evident in their detailed knowledge of the flavors and their expert recommendations.
The star of the show, undoubtedly, is the gelato. Presented in beautifully arrayed, colorful waves, the sheer variety of flavors is a feast for the eyes. Each scoop is meticulously crafted with high-quality, fresh ingredients that give it a rich, smooth texture that is noticeably superior.
The Stracciatella, with its delicate blend of creamy vanilla and fine, dark chocolate shavings, is a timeless classic, as is the fragrant Pistachio. The more adventurous flavors such as the Durian or Matcha Green Tea, however, are an absolute must-try. They masterfully balance the authentic taste with the smooth, creamy base, creating a harmonious fusion that leaves a memorable aftertaste.
Another noteworthy feature is the balance of sweetness. Unlike many other gelaterias, Gelatissimo gets it just right. The gelato here is not cloying, but subtly sweet, allowing the true flavors to shine through. Moreover, their dedication to accommodate dietary preferences, with an excellent range of vegan and sugar-free options, is highly commendable.
Besides gelato, Gelatissimo also serves exquisite coffee that pairs perfectly with the frozen treats. Their Affogato, a delightful scoop of vanilla gelato drowned in a shot of strong, bitter espresso, is a sublime blend of temperatures, textures, and flavors.
Every visit to Gelatissimo at Serendra BGC feels like a special occasion. The sublime quality, friendly service, and inviting ambiance make it more than just a gelato shop - it's a complete experience, a sensory journey that is as satisfying as it is surprising.
Whether you're a gelato aficionado or a curious first-timer, Gelatissimo at Serendra BGC should be at the top of your must-visit list. It's an ice-cold promise of pure bliss, one...
Read moreThese two servers were extremely rude to me and my family. We stay in the area so we often frequent this branch. We asked for half a portion of the usual ice cream because our kids aren’t allowed to have too much sugar. We are aware that’s it’s the same price yet these two servers refuse to give us half portion even if we kept repeating that we will pay for full portion. Not only did they not give us what we asked for, they were glaring at us and giving us attitude. We asked for a supervisor and was told they don’t have one.
Luckily one of the other servers intercepted seeing we were all very unhappy and just gave us what we wanted with a smile. It was a simple request which we usually ask for in other ice cream shops, and we still pay the same full price- nobody else treated us with so much disrespect and contempt only your store.
They ruined our day with our family because of rude almost non existent service and intentionally ruining our experience in your store. It’s so sad that your icecream shop is not at all family oriented and have zero customer support; so much so that you will allow your service staff to refuse service and even be rude to us just for a very simple request. It’s so ironic that the servers in an ice cream shop are sad, angry, passive aggressive people who are allowed to treat customers how ever...

However, this is not gelato. The ice cream flavors we ordered and also sampled were not creamy, light, and did not have a smooth, silky texture, which is what gelato actually is.
I get that there are similarities and the word itself means "ice cream" but this is gelato we are talking about. This review is based from experience, eating gelato in the source: Italy. It is an Italian-style dessert that usually contains many of the same ingredients as ice cream. It’s often considered a type of ice cream—sometimes referred to as “Italian ice cream.”
Compared to ice cream, though, gelato usually contains less cream and has a lower milk fat percentage. Additionally, the slower churning process of gelato causes it to be infused with less air than ice cream. All of this means that gelato tends to have a silkier texture than ice cream.
It was good but it was Gelatissimo good for being ice cream and not Gelatissimo good for...
