S&R in BGC offers a shopping experience that’s both exciting and overwhelming—in the best way possible. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by towering shelves stocked with bulk goods, imported brands, and everyday essentials. It feels like stepping into an American warehouse store, complete with wide aisles and that distinctive smell of baked goods wafting from the food court. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and though the parking lot was bustling, I managed to find a spot quickly thanks to their free parking perk for members. Inside, the place was busy, but it never felt cramped. The layout makes it easy to navigate, even if you’re pushing around a heavy cart loaded with goodies. One of the highlights for me was their selection of imported snacks and beverages. From giant bags of chips to unique flavors of soda, it’s a haven for anyone looking to try something new or stock up on favorites you can’t always find in regular supermarkets. The fresh produce section was impressive, too—everything looked vibrant and well-stocked, though prices for some items were slightly higher than I expected. After an hour of shopping, I treated myself to the food court. Their New York-style pizza is as good as everyone says—big, cheesy slices that are perfect for sharing (or not). I also tried the chicken baked rolls, which were hearty and flavorful. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the portions you get, making it a great spot to refuel before heading home. The checkout process was smooth, even with a bit of a line. The staff were friendly and efficient, and I appreciated how organized everything felt despite the weekend rush. Overall, S&R BGC is more than just a shopping trip—it’s an experience. Whether you’re stocking up on bulk items, exploring unique imports, or just grabbing a quick bite, it’s a place that delivers value for your membership fee. Just be prepared to spend more time (and money) than you initially planned—you’ll find plenty of things you didn’t...
Read moreWell I've been out of country for 5 months and maybe they listened to me. They redid the whole food court and restroom area, it is looking better and much cleaner. I didn't eat this time, but will try next time to see if that has improved any!
See my update at bottom. But situation has gotten totally out of and particularly at food court. One hour wait for pizza AND fried chicken. This is a management issue and apparently they NEED NEW MANAGEMENT.
My review is of the food court here. It is similar to Costco, of which whole store is similar, but there similarity ends. On my first visit in 8 years, I found service was slow, but 5he staff was helpful and a decent selection of items to eat or take out. However the pizza slices we're Luke warm at best and for what ever reason the fountain dispenser has no diet drinks, not even diet Pepsi! That needs to be remedied. You have to buy a bottle if you want diet! On next visit, I will try other selections and see how speed of service is.
UPDATE: We've been back several times and if anything things are worse. I decided to try a hotdog and was informed they were out! Now correct me if I'm wrong, but this place sells dogs in the bulk, but the food court can't walk back to the meat section and get a package or two??? So I ordered a Caesar salad, the dressing they handed me had the thickness of mayonnaise, because it was mayonnaise with something added, I guess. It was terrible. Years ago, I use to look forward to eating here while shopping. NOT ANY MORE. Sorry as of 3/2023 food court is still slow and food is mediocre at best. Also with inflation shopping here is getting overly expensive and it shows by the observable reduced foot traffic volume!
Also check expiation dates on products you do buy. I found several items, some as simple as a jar of Planters peanuts or Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies were expiring this month or next! That is NO GOOD! What is...
Read moreIn short, many rare imported products, good fresh pizza and Churros, but stock rotations can cause products you liked to disappear.
This place has tons of products I've never seen elsewhere in the Philippines during 4 years as an expatriate...well, except for at the Quezon City branch 😉
Kraft Easy Mac, Knorr Pasta Selects, SpaghettiOs, Campbell's soup, tons of US cereal brands, Kirkland Chocolate Covered Raisins, Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches, hash browns, breakfast sausage, American style mill ("California select" brand), Philadelphia cream cheese, Hagen Dasz ice cream, corn dogs, Eggo waffles, smoked salmon, Montana brand beef ... Even those gross Hot Pocket things sold universally in the States.
Not all of these are unique to S&R, but they are all in one place.
The best thing though is that if a product is close to its marked expiration date, they will give you a step discount - in one case they gave me a massive P400 bottle of Gatorade for only P150. We all know that stuff doesn't expire, but the marked expiration is what matters at S&R. If you have time, seek out products nearing expiration on the shelves.
This place does have a few negatives. For one thing, these products cost much more than they do back in the States. If you're on a budget, it's time to learn to like and cook local cuisine and skip S&R.
Another negative is that their stock constantly rotates. If you find a product you really like, buy a lot of it! There is no guarantee they will ever stock it again. Only the most popular products remain in stock into perpetuity.
Also, pets are not allowed, even if carried or...
