My second empanada place in Vigan, Nanag Sion serves up empanada within a unique setting. It's like a diner with the different car and bike displays. It has multiple stories and has a great view if you choose to sit next to a window. I came when it wasn't busy and got my empanada fresh. I ordered the egg empanada (I'm ovo lacto vegetarian). One empanada came out looking great, the other came out burnt 🙄). They were both crispy, served on a nice wooden platter. They weren't too oily, which was great. A trick is to open it up and allow the steam to escape so it will be manageable to eat. I had it with spicy vinegar, which adds to the flavor. It's ok. I suppose it's better with meat, but I'll never know ☺️ It's just a little aways from Calle Crislogo, but not too far. It's definitely worth the walk for the nice, unique atmosphere.

One of the experiences I will always remember in Vigan was tasting their empanada. Aside from visiting their famous landmarks like the bell tower and Calle Crisologo, we found ourselves craving this local dish. Nanang Sion serves empanada with a variety of fillings you can try. I got the Classic empanada but with 2 eggs inside. A bit bigger than the normal size. We also tried 2 more with different fillings and an ukoy which is a vegetable fritter with shrimp. Best dipped in vinegar. Refreshingly paired with soda! It was a really wonderful treat! Do try this when in Vigan😉 Note: Park carefully on the side street

Nanang Sion Vigan Empanada: A Cozy Haven with Room for Improvement Nestled in the heart of Vigan City, Nanang Sion Vigan Empanada offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere perfect for a leisurely meal. The restaurant's ambiance, with its homey with vintage motorcycles interior design, creates a charming and welcoming space. While the food served at Nanang Sion's Vigan Empanada is undoubtedly above average, my dining experience was somewhat marred by the service provided by the cashier. The cashier was unfriendly and unattentive. When I ordered a Garlic Spicy Empanada, I inquired about the preparation time. The cashier informed me it would take approximately 5 minutes. However, after 5 minutes had passed, my order still hadn't arrived. It wasn't until 10 minutes later that I received my empanada. As I was in a bit of a hurry, I had hoped for a more accurate estimate. Later, when I brought up the service delay, the cashier explained that their preparation time was typically 25-30 minutes. While I understand that their food is made to order, I believe a more considerate approach would have been to inform me of this beforehand. Despite the service hiccup, the empanada itself was delicious. The spicy garlic Empanada was a delightful combination of flavors. Additionally, I was particularly impressed with the Silog - Tapa with spiced vinegar. Overall, Nanang Sion Vigan Empanada offers a pleasant dining experience with its cozy ambiance and tasty food. However, improvements in the cashier's customer service could elevate the experience even further.

Nanang Sion Vigan Empanada is located near the Bicentennial Park. It offers empanada and okoy, with soft drinks and flavored juices. The service is great, and they serve your food hot and fresh. Sauces, especially the vinegar with pickled onions greatly enhances the flavor of the food. The interior of the place is also Instagram-worthy, so take pictures while you enjoy your crispy empanada.

Next to Jardin, this is the 2nd best empanada in Vigan. Although the empanada is smaller, the filling is more umami! The place also feels warm and vibrant. There are also a lot of empanada variety like beef empanada.
