We drove from Laoag to Vigan to try Cafe Amian. Definitely worth the two-hour drive as it's now my favorite cafe in the Ilocos area. We only ordered drinks, and all four drinks we got were top of the line.
However, I'm docking two stars off for two reasons:
We stayed on the first floor and we could smell a faint hint of sewage from the comfort room.
The girl at the cash register gave off snooty vibes when I started ordering from the single-origin selection. Smirked, laughed a little, and specifically told me they were black coffees like I didn't know. I also asked to have them include creamer on the side just in case the people I was ordering for wanted them, but when the orders came there was no creamer. Good thing my husband and sister's boyfriend (who asked for Mabini and Del Pilar) liked their plain black coffees and didn't need creamer. We had a great experience in general, but the girl at the register with her uppity "we're the only ones allowed to drink expensive black coffee, the rest can drink their creamy, sugary frappes" attitude left an ugly mark on it all.
Other than that, the rest of the staff were polite and helpful. The ambience is a blend of charming and historical like the rest of Vigan. We also loved Kahel and Samtoy Choco Tablea. We're happy Cafe Amian is coming to Laoag.

Entering the venue, the staff greeted us even though they were busy, offered us options and suggestions because we were undecided. Nice ambiance, I also liked those little info cards about the coffee that you're drinking. The tiramisu was a little too sweet for mine and my husband's liking, and it lacks that bitter touch of the usual Italian tiramisu, but I guess they customize it for the Filipino taste? Regardless, they still killed it for a dessert, it was not bad, just a little too sweet. Overall, was happy with the experience and I'm so happy to see a local coffee shop like this thriving and being supported by locals!...

Speaking of coffee, Cafe Amian doesn't disappoint. Their coffee selection is a testament to their commitment to quality. Whether you're a fan of a strong espresso or prefer a creamy latte.
While the lunchtime crowd might make the cafe seem bustling, it's important to note that this is a testament to its popularity. Many patrons drop in for a quick lunch, which explains the ebb and flow of the crowd. However, for someone like me who values leisurely hours spent in the company of friends or simply enjoying solitude, Cafe Amian is a haven.
