Pretty bad for me... I felt like they put a one yard of arugula in that semblance of burger(that “Jack Burger”)... That amount of grass, of course, soaked everything, transforming it to the porridge-squash, basically, while eating it, I haven’t felt anything, but just that disgusting taste of bitter arugula... Meet wasn’t cooked as well, maybe, it was even raw(and I would like to point out that the waiter, who was pretty unfriendly, hasn’t even asked, how well I would like my beef cutlet to be prepared-rare, medium, medium rare, medium well or well done...) + Waiter, that guy, hasn’t even asked, whether everything was ok for us and tasted good or not... I think, he did it intentionally, for us not to complain about food quality, because he clearly saw, that we haven’t finished our meals and drinks + were sad... Or, maybe, again, he was just unfriendly that day, I don’t know, I tell only about our experience, don’t know how that waiter treats other guests... The beer(that Zywiec), was also bad in taste, waiter hasn’t recommended me any nice beer to order, I’ve ordered that one and it was extremely poignant and tasteless... All in all, I don’t recommend this place. Totally overhyped. Price is not grounded. What do I have to pay for? For squash instead of burger? For raw beef cutlet, the taste of which I felt in my stomach for the rest of the day? For a kilo of arugula in that burger? For soaked bread? I mean, seriously, I saw that they put that grass in EVERY burger! Don’t do it! It spoils burger! There is no place for grass(lettuce/arugula, etc), in the burger! It makes it dry and it’s impossible to eat it as a normal burger, but just a mess... You should either increase quality of your food, or lower the price... It’s bad... Spoilt day after the visit or this...
Read moreWent to this restaurant due to reviews and this is an honest review of this evening. Myself and 3 children went here dir a birthday meal, we have been in gdansk a few times but never here as I like to go to traditional Polish restaurants. We were seated in Billy's and we ordered and I specifically asked that my steak was not pink ( i have a phobia abour it) and low and behold it came with blood coming out sent it back, re ordered and it never arrived my children had finished their meal and to be honest I did not want to eat on my own considering it was a birthday meal, spoke to the so called manager who just shrugged his shoulders and said do you want desert the children ordered and again wrong order when I challenged the manager he was indifferent allowed another table to shout I wanted something for free which I did not and never said, and never advised the table to be quiet as this was nothing to dobwith them, but allowed them to be rude and biased towards my family and all I was doing was pointing out good customer service. I have no problem paying a bill but in the years I have been coming to poland I have never come across such rude and indifferent staff or people. Its a very poor example of gdansk when managers and waitresses walk of when they make mistakes which can happen but hiw they deal with it is a different matter all rhat I can assume is because we are English speaking they do not like us as this is now the lasting impression I have of Billy's biased and rude and to write a negative review absolutely kills me as I love poland but this was the worst experience ever not even so much...
Read moreFood was ok, however they appear to exploit tourists by asking that they pay a service fee. The table behind us were foreigners, and their waiter (who was the same as ours) asked to add a 10% service fee to their bill. It was an awkward interaction, so they said yes. The same waiter did not ask the Polish couple seated next to us to pay an extra 10%, nor did we hear her thanking them for a tip. But sure enough, when our bill came, they asked to add 10% to it. We are native English speakers but live in Poland so know that a "service fee" and tipping is not mandatory. We tip when the service is great, but it is never an expectation that we do so.
If Billy's wants to add a policy of charging a 10% service fee then they should add it to the bill automatically. I'm betting the reason they don't do this is because they know it's not standard practice and they will get complaints.
The service was fast but not worth a tip - we had three employees walk past us despite standing next to the 'wait here for a table' sign, and the ordering interaction was very straightforward. There was no service beyond that. It felt as though they get enough customers coming through their door that they do not need to try. Which is fine, but then do not ask only English speaking customers for a 10% tip. It should also be said that this restaurant is more expensive than other comparable restaurants we have been to in Poland, so you are already paying more...
