The reason I booked this place was because I knew I would be arriving late at night in Gdańsk and there was no way I wanted to run around too much to get to my out-of-centre accommodation that I have had in the past in Gdańsk. And THIS is the biggest plus of this place. The location of this place could not have been better. And if all you want is just a bed and shower, then it'll do you fine. One more thing - on my last day I had a late flight, but they did let me leave my bags there for some hours so I could walk around a bit. So that's good too. The single bed was plenty good enough.
The room was certainly sparsely furnished. There was the single bed, a table, a stool, a mirror on the wall and five clothes hooks (together with ONE coat hanger). So, no place to hang up any clothes except for my coat. And I had to put my towel on this coat hanger too - nowhere else to put that! So that was off to a bad start when I opened the door first time. The room I was in was very small with one window I really couldn't see out of. Kind of like a prison cell window might be I guess. It didn't improve in the morning either when I went to the showers. Yes, I did know they were shared, and that was not great but no other choice there. Into the shower I took my bathroom bag, towel, slippers and clothes for the day. Hung my towel and clothes over the shower door, slippers off onto the floor, bathroom bag on the hook, room key also on the hook. Ok, another thing that irritates me about many places - not just here - is there is no place to put your soap. Had to try and hold the soap between my knees rather than put it on the floor all the time. Anyway, I pulled the curtain to separate shower from things hung up on door, had my shower, then pulled back the curtain to get my towel and clothes. And EVERYTHING was soaking wet! Wet towel, wet clothes, and dripping wet slippers!! Angry me! And of course no good place to hang these things up to dry them except at the end of my bed. The next day I saw why. This particular shower was just shooting water everywhere. Probably a blocked shower head or something. The other two showers were more controlled, but I didn't ever risk bringing in my slippers and fresh clothes to the shower rooms again. So this meant every morning shower was hard and definitely NOT a...
Read moreCan’t give a review on the actual quality of the rooms or services on offer, however me and my partner arrived on the 21st of november after booking a room, prior to our arrival we got in contact with the hostel twice and we were assured everything would be fine. On arrival, we were rejected our room from a very rude lady ‘wioleta’ as i didnt have my identification on me. However i had my booking confirmation and reference, also the card we paid with, still nothing. After being very rudely spoken to she said if we had a picture of our ID it would be okay. The next thing you know she had called a local security company, who on arrival were very rude and aggresive towards us. And as i dont speak polish i believe i was treated extremely unfairly, as one kept repeating you are in poland speak polish. (Even though gdansk is a touristic city) eventualy we woke up my partners father who proceeded to send us a picture of my ID, when we showed the lady she decided it wasn’t good enough. And demanded the police be called, a lot of stress and confusion caused. This experience ruined our very short stay to visit friends and family in the city, even though we had already paid we were left to stay outside all night on a freezing cold november night. Quite clearly customer service has not been taught in this hostel and i would never recomend...

It’s at the top of the stair well so very noisy. Numerous of school children running around during our stay and when alerted reception they stated there was nothing they could do. |If your needing sleep this is not the place amongst the noise there is also no curtains in any of the rooms only a thin net which offers no darkness. |Half way through our stay we flushed the toilet and noticed sewage coming back up through the shower plug. After going to reception they replied this was not a surprise to them. We asked for our money back as they couldn’t offer us a room with a private bathroom. She stated they were unable to refund and could only swap our room. |The place where the hostel is situated is great and you can access the old town quickly, it’s close to the new shopping centre and bus stop. However we...
