As for any other museum around the world, at least art museums, this is a great place to first visit when you como to Gdańsk as it gives you a deep and beautiful insight of the history, culture, and values that have formed this city over the centuries.
A beautiful and small museum with the collection of hundred of pieces from Gdańsk's history.
It was a nice experience to visit this museum and got lost among the pictures of sceneries and people that throughout the years have left their mark here.
The building itself is a piece of art and history, a former monastery, which translate to a whole experience.
Obviously, the most important piece of art in this exhibition is "The last judgement" by Hans Memling. A magnificent painting, few can cautivate as this one does.
Only 4 stars cause the museum is lost in the old parts of the city and it took me months to...

The highlight for sure was the “Last Judgment” painting — it’s huge and super detailed, like lowkey creepy but in a cool, medieval way. You could stare at it forever and still find new stuff. Definitely the "whoa" moment of the museum.

Would I go every day? Nah. But if you like cool art, dramatic paintings, and wanna feel smart for an hour — worth...
Read moreA pleasent way to spend a while when in Gdansk if a little out of the way. Entry was very cheap and staff were pleasent although offered no input and we didn't ask. I'm no art expert but the obvious draw is Hans Memlings Last judgement which is stunning, there are a few other good paintings but some that I as a non expert wondered about in a national museum. There was a couple of beautiful paintings by an unknown Gdansk artist. Over all a pleasent visit. Follow a map as it's a little out of the way and poorly signposted. A couple who said they were locals thought the building was...
