The restaurant is on a road right next to the river. You can sit outside if you want. The inside is a bit sterile for my taste, with a sort of star ceiling and interesting dotted LED lights from the ceiling. If you have been to Japan and an Izakaya there...don´t be misled by the name, it isn´t an "Izakaya" at all. Other than that, the staff is very friendly, speaks some English and is very attentive. The menu is quite big and prices are fine for the food we had. We had the ebi gyoza as appetizer (19zl) and then the tori no terriyaki (35zl) and the futari-sushi-set with 24pieces (109zl). They also have a nice japanese drinking menu (Beer and whiskey), I had 2 Asahi beers, always perfect.
After ordering we had to wait about 30min, the place wasn´t packed (about 3-4 other parties) but it was ok, the food was freshly prepared by 2 polish guys behind the counter. The dumplings were nice with a sesame sauce, the tori was VERY delicous, very fresh with sprouts and a great terriyaki sauce and great fried tori. The sushi set was a delight, (see pic) very creative sushi, not your everyday roll or maki. You can tell it took the chef a while to come up with such a well balanced creation. There were some sweet ones with pomegranate seeds and some angelhairlike topping. Awesome maguro (tuna) and some interesting Gunkanstyle with a fresh veggiesalad topping wrapped in thin-scliced cucumber. Haven´t had such well-rounded sushi assortment in a while.
The place also has a very fast WIFI (50mbs!) I highly recommend a visit there, you will not be disappointed but rather surprised about the quality sushi there for a...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible sushi. We went for lunch and had a wonderful time. It takes a bit of time for the food to be prepared, (and of course you need to have money to burn) but it is more than worth the wait.
Each dish was distinct in its flavour. I loved the beef sushi, the 'Polish kind' with cranberries, and the tuna tarter was amazing. As a matcha lover I had to have the matcha ice cream as dessert. The combination of matcha and mango was great, though for purists I think there was a bit much mango and the matcha ice cream could be churned just a little bit better to get even smaller crystals (but this is nitpicking). I tried a piece of the tamago-eel dessert as well and it was just really tasty.
The tea was very nice too. Beautiful green tea with lychee and rose if I remember correctly. Free refill on the hot water, which is great as you can quickly go through the small pot.
An izakaya in Japan is a place to share food and drinks together - often evening bars. If you have the chance and like to spend on good food, don't forget to visit this Izakaya - even if it is just...
Read moreI went there with my girlfriend, because she wanted to try the Ramen and me the Sushi. Sadly they told us that it would take about an hour until we can order sushi so we both ordered Ramen and kimchi as a starter. After 30 minutes the waitress came with the kimchi and had forgotten to bring us chopsticks (cutterly) we also found out by listening to her talking to the table next to us, that they also ran out of mushrooms, which both of our ramen had listed as an ingredient. After a total of 50 minutes our Ramen finally came. My broth was room temperature warm.. hers was still nice and hot. The broth itself was good, but it haf only a few noodles inside and it was mostly the broth itself. We paid 120zl for the food, tea and ice tea. Overall the place looks very nice and clean. The disinfect the tables after every customer. I wouldn't...
