My review of The Moon Hostel: A Cosmic Experience with a Side of Cereal Love located in Gdansk
My recent stay at The Moon Hostel was nothing short of a celestial adventure. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that radiated warmth and camaraderie. The eclectic decor, adorned with celestial motifs and vibrant artwork, instantly made me feel at home. However, it was the little things that truly made this hostel shine—most notably, the breakfast spread, which I absolutely adored.
Let me take a moment to share my undying love for cereal. There's something about the crunch, the sweetness, and the sheer nostalgia that fills my heart with joy every morning. At The Moon Hostel, the free cereal bar was a treasure trove of delights. Rows of colorful boxes lined the shelves, each promising a different adventure in every bite. I found myself indulging in everything from classic cornflakes to whimsical frosted varieties, pairing them with the freshest milk. Each bowl was a delightful reminder of carefree mornings, of crunching happily in front of Saturday morning cartoons.
It’s not just the cereal itself, but the ritual—the pouring, the mixing, the savoring. I would wake up each day with an excitement reminiscent of childhood, eagerly anticipating my breakfast. There was a sense of community in the dining area as fellow travelers gathered around, sharing stories and laughter over their own cereal creations. The atmosphere was electric, filled with a palpable joy that made each spoonful taste even better.
However, my experience was tinged with a bit of sadness. One fateful morning, I discovered that my beloved ham and cream cheese, which I had brought along to elevate my breakfast experience, had vanished from the shared fridge. I couldn't believe it. There’s an unspoken code of respect in communal living, and the theft of my simple yet cherished ingredients felt like a personal betrayal. It left me disheartened, staring into my bowl of cereal, now missing that savory touch that I had so looked forward to.
Despite this setback, my overall experience at The Moon Hostel was incredibly rewarding. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help and provide tips on local hotspots. The common areas buzzed with creativity and conversation, and I found myself forging connections with fellow travelers from around the globe.
In conclusion, The Moon Hostel is a vibrant haven for anyone seeking adventure and community. Just be wary of the fridge—protect your goods! As for me, I'll always remember my stay for the delightful bowls of cereal that fueled my mornings and the bonds formed over breakfast. If you share my passion for cereal and appreciate a lively atmosphere, The Moon Hostel is a place worth visiting. Just make sure to keep an eye on...

Where do I even begin with this nightmare? Let’s start with the fact that Moon Hostel Gdańsk LOOKS charming from the outside, but don’t be fooled! My stay here quickly turned into a series of frustrations, all revolving around one thing: my ham and cream cheese. Yes, you read that right. The cleaner either threw away or STOLE my ham and cream cheese! Who does that?! It was in a sealed bag, labeled with my name and checkout date. It’s not like I left it out to rot or invited anyone to have a buffet with MY food!
I love cereal. I LOVE cereal. And yes, they serve free cereal here. Great. It’s one of the few things this hostel has going for it. I eat cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I can. But NO amount of cereal can make up for my stolen ham and cream cheese. You can’t just brush that under the rug with a handful of cornflakes. I paid for that ham. I paid for that cream cheese. The emotional attachment I had to them cannot be replaced by a free bowl of sugary loops.
When I asked the staff what happened, they just shrugged it off. "It’s probably a mistake," they said. A MISTAKE?! The only mistake here was booking at this hostel where your food mysteriously disappears and nobody cares. I came to Gdańsk for a good time, but Moon Hostel RUINED it. I’m furious. What kind of place doesn’t respect its guests’ personal property?! Now I’m sitting here, cereal in hand, trying to calm down, but it’s not working.
If you value your food, your sanity, and the ability to enjoy both cereal AND ham and cream cheese in peace, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This hostel deserves NO stars.

There are no repurcussions for this behaviour as no staff on site at night||I appreciate the guests are to blame for the final point, but thought it was worth mentioning, in case this is normal for this hostel (as it's not my experience in the other European hostels...
