This being my first visit to Gdansk, my friend recommended this place for not only its delectable meals, but the amazing view on the rooftop! The service i received was par excellence! My servitor Karolina, was very helpful and accommodating. So much so that I returned a second night for dinner. As a former chef, one can say that the meals prepared were perfectly crafted to immediately hit your palate from the get go! It was as if i sat at my dining table at home with a personal chef! The meat fell off the rib bone indicating perfect slow cooking technique for hours for the BBQ ribs. And the salmon dinner? Just to die for. Pan seared to perfection and pairing with a sweet potato puree and summer vegetables made this dish absolutely appealing to one's eyes and i dare say stomach. The variety of drinks especially the cocktails made this experience all the better. Karolina went above and beyond for me, even attending to a last minute personal matter. Because of her genuine, caring spirit I had the most enjoyable dinners. For a restaurant isnt just about serving food, its about the amazing service provided by its staff. I certainly will be back on my next...
Read moreYes, the hype is real. I found out about this place on TikTok and was hesitant to try, fearing it was overhyped, but I’m so happy I did.
The food is so delicious and unique! We came in for a late dinner and ordered the pickled herring, black pasta, and spicy truffle pizza. The seafood in the pasta was fresh and well cooked. The pizza was delicious (recommend if you like truffles because they do not skimp out on them), but the pizza is not spicy. The pickled herring was my favorite. I’m normally not a fan, but the sauces they provided and the herring itself paired so well together. Seriously recommend it if you like fish/sardines. I also had the Niewąski Brajan which was delicious and dangerous. It tastes like a sour candy so you don’t immediately taste the booze but trust me its there ;)
The service was okay. Our waitress was kind, but she forgot to bring us silverware and our ordered water. However, she was quick to bring us both when we asked for it. Nothing terrible, I think maybe she was new.
Overall, incredible food and a wonderful experience. My only regret was going on our last night in Gdańsk because we absolutely would have...
Read more“Better is the enemy of good.” This perfectly encapsulates my experience with this place. It’s the ideal example of why iconic spots shouldn’t be replicated. I’m a huge fan of the original restaurant in Sopot. The food there is truly top-notch, but Gdańsk… an absolute disaster.
Let me start with the most important point: the dishes were EXTREMELY oversalted, even for someone like me, who enjoys salty food. All my companions agreed. It’s a good thing we ordered water with our meal (and had to buy more after leaving the restaurant).
Secondly, the service. The waiter attending our table was trying way too hard to be funny, making awkward and unfunny comments. Plus, telling a customer, “I don’t really like this dish,” doesn’t exactly reflect well on the restaurant.
Thirdly, the prices. This is probably more subjective – the portions are indeed large, and the ingredients seem fresh, but the restaurant isn’t cheap.
Lastly, the music was so loud that it was impossible to have a normal conversation.
It was hard to find anything positive about the evening. It was truly disappointing, especially after my great...
