Tapas Barcelona — Restaurant in Gdynia

I had such a lovely time sitting at one of the street tables in the sun one Sunday afternoon, during my first visit here. The dishes seem authentic to me, and the ingredients have been sourced knowledgeably and meticulously, down to the wines from boutique Catalan vineyards that you wouldn't ordinarily find. One thing I really enjoyed here was the cheerful and proactive service. After I had indicated the first couple of things on the menu that I was considering, there was a helpful flow of other suggestions and and off-menu offers. All of which proved to be enjoyable and in some cases, surprising - like the unfiltered Turbio Vino Blanco, a cloudy, almost apple-tasting wine from Galicia; and the reddish and beautifully aromatic Lepanto Brandy de Jerez, served atop a glass of hot water, right at the finish. The dishes I tried included Baked Chistorra, fast-cured Basque Country pork sausages on skewers, with bread and dipping sauce (accompanied by a glass of Cava from the Penedès Region, Catalonia); a creamy, succulent bowl of Barcelona-style Mussels La Chinata, named after Pimentón La Chinata, the smoked paprika which flavours and colours the cream sauce; and a tapas dish of dates wrapped in fatty, thick rashers of bacon. Nie wiem za bardzo której knajpie wystawić tę ocenę. Jeśli chodzi o tapas Barcelona przed pandemią, to jedzenie super, wystrój super i zawsze byliśmy zadowoleni z wizyty. Ale kiedy wczoraj zjawiliśmy się pod drzwiami tapas po 13.00 (gdzie na Google i fb jest informacja, że restauracja jest otwarta od 13.00), na drzwiach była informacja, że restauracja otwarta jest od 15.00 i że zapraszają w międzyczasie do Bergamo (domyślam się, że są to dwa lokale jednego właściciela) i jest tam menu z tapas Barcelona. (Dodam, że na fb i google nie ma w ogóle takiej informacji, bo jakbyśmy wiedzieli, to byśmy po prostu nie przyszli.) No to idziemy. Niestety chyba za bardzo przywiązaliśmy się do samego miejsca, bo w Bergamo w ogóle nie czuliśmy atmosfery tapas (nie dziwne, bo to zupełnie inna knajpa). Ale trudno. Co do menu, to dostaliśmy kartkę po obu stronach zadrukowaną menu tapas Barcelona i Bergamo. Taką wiecie, zwykłą kartkę, upierdzielona po kimś jakimś sosem. Trochę dziwne w czasach pandemii, że nie dostaliśmy chociażby nowej, nieużywanej. Bo mimo, że nie odczuwamy już jakiegoś specjalnego strachu przed wirusem, to po prostu słabe, że kartki są ufajdane. No i menu ultra okrojone. Jedzenie jak zwykle bardzo dobre. Ale, i tego już naprawdę nie mogę przeżyć, dostaliśmy jedzenie w jednorazowych talerzach i musieliśmy je jeść jednorazowymi sztućcami, które można się domyślić, jak są wyprofilowane. Nie wiem, o co chodzi. Czy w Bergamo po prostu tak padają, czy co. Ale w momencie, kiedy sympatyczna Pani kelnerka przynosi mi jedzenie w jednorazowym talerzu i jednorazowe sztućce podane na porcelanowym talerzu, doznałam jakiegoś wewnętrznego szoku. Jeśli ta normalna zastawa gdzieś się jednak wychyla, to dlaczego ja muszę próbować otworzy mule drewnianym widelcem i gonić drewnianym nożem? Dodam, że ostatecznie się nie otworzyła. Nie chcę być tutaj uszczypliwa, ale jednak zjedliśmy to, co zwykle, w tej samej cenie, co zwykle, ale byliśmy niezwykle nieusatysfakcjonowani, tym jak przebiegła ta wizyta. Nawet bardzo dobra Sangria nie pomogła. Trochę smutne, że klient przychodzący o 13.00, najwyraźniej jest gorszym klientem niż ten przychodzący o 18.00.

Edit Dalej bardzo mi przykro z powodu powyższego zdarzenia. Ale trzeba oddać że jedzeniem jest tak dobre, że nie można się długo na nich gniewać.. A za paelle z kurczakiem to i 10...

We had read many good reviews so were extremely disappointed.

We ordered the sangria with alcohol and I really don't think it had any wine in it at all. I rarely drink and always ask for less alcohol than normal to be added to my cocktails and yet even I could not taste or feel any alcohol. We asked if she'd mistakenly brought the non alcoholic and were told it's just milder than Spain because it only contains wine, not hard alcohol! I used to live in Spain. Normally the only alcohol in sangria was wine.

The calamari were low quality frozen rings. The patatas bravas were just mediocre.
