Bar a Boo — Restaurant in Lublin

I visited this restaurant with over 20 colleagues for a work gathering. The best part of the evening was simply spending time together and catching up with everyone — that social aspect made the night worthwhile.

Unfortunately, nearly everything else about the experience was disappointing:

Ordering was a mess. We had to write down our food and drink choices on a piece of paper and physically take it downstairs to place the order ourselves. Even then, the staff taking the orders were unfriendly and seemed irritated by our presence.

Food quality vs. value. While the food itself tasted good, the portions were extremely small — especially given the high prices, comparable to what you'd expect in major tourist cities.

Service was chaotic and inattentive. Dishes arrived at completely different times, so some people had finished their meals before others even received theirs. Used glasses, empty plates, and other dirty dishes piled up on the tables throughout the night. No one from the staff made any effort to clean up unless specifically asked — and even then, they did so reluctantly, as if doing us a favor.

The general attitude of the staff was indifferent at best and dismissive at worst. By the end of the evening, our table was cluttered with dirty dishes and glasses, making the atmosphere quite unpleasant.

Overall, this place seriously needs to rethink its approach to customer service and operations — especially if it hopes to handle large groups or events in the future. I wouldn’t recommend it for gatherings or...

Zacznijmy od samego wejścia. Jak wskazuje napis na kartce poczekaliśmy, aż obsługa wskaże nam stolik, wszystko fajnie gdyby Pani Kelnerka na wstępie powiedziała chociażby „dzień dobry” lub odpowiedziała na nasze. Wskazała nam dwa stoliki z możliwością wyboru, za co oczywiście wielki plus. Dla osób, które tam bywają wiadome jest że zamówienia składa się przy barze, a co gdybyśmy byli po raz pierwszy? Ta informacja nie została podana. Zamówione dania to: pizza prosciutto e funghi, pizza prosciutto e rucola, filet z dorsza oraz roladki z kurczaka. Dania zamówione razem, a pizze przyszły jako pierwsze. Sama pizza bez rewelacji, ciasto bardzo cienkie i miejscami gumowate, a w smaku przeciętna jedna jak i druga. Roladki z kurczaka: zaskoczeniem była porcja oraz ilość warzyw, powinno się to raczej nazywać „warzywa z roladkami”, warzywa dość twarde, niedogotowane, samo mięso bardzo suche. Filet z dorsza: Niesmak pozostał do dzisiaj… ryba przesolona, głównie było czuć sól, a nie rybę, zapach jej pozostawiał wiele do życzenia względem świeżości, stąd podejrzewam tyle solanki. Warzywa tak samo jak przy roladkach twarde, nieapetyczne, porcja ryby mikroskopijna, również powinna się nazywać „warzywa z dorszem”. Nie liczcie też, że obsługa będzie zabierać ze stołu Wasze brudne naczynia, nic bardziej mylnego. Może są ludzie, którzy ponad 20 min lubią siedzieć ze swoimi talerzami po konsumpcji, ja oraz moi znajomi do nich nie należymy. Jeżeli planujecie przyjść tam na obiad ze znajomymi lub rodziną, stanowczo odradzam. Jeżeli chcecie napić się herbaty, kawy drinków i to tyle lokal najgorszym wyborem nie będzie, ale jest dużo więcej lepszych miejsc w Lublinie. If you are with more than one person, the food arrives in gaps of 30 minutes. This is not the first time this has happened. Three times we have been here, and each time, the same thing happens.
