Atmosphere a bit flat. Has a large screen for sport and good selection of beer. Expensive bar, even by UK standards. Pint of Stella which has not been considered a premium lager for years now was £5 GBP or 25 Zloty. Bit of a rip off especially when you consider the prices within 100m.
In reply to the response. Stella is not a premium lager, at all! It probably falls somewhere between Heineken/Calring/Budweiser (the horrible American muck not the Czech lager) and something like Peroni. Average price in the UK for a pint of it would be about £2.70. It's not that your bar is expensive for Polish standards, it's expensive by UK standards. You'd only pay £5 a pint for Stella in a hotel/wedding venue in the UK. As for local bars there's the cheap Polyester Cafe and the more up-market (but better priced) Nowe Miasto just up the street. What's special about a Belgian pub? It's just like any other pub/small sports bar. I could understand higher prices for small batch IPAs and craft beers in bottles, but Stella is a bog-standard pint of lager no matter what the...
Read moreBit of a novelty in downtown Warsaw, but if you are a lover of Belgian beers and all things sour then this is the place for you. I am more a stout and cheap lager man myself, so I guess I'm too uncultured for the likes of this place, but still where there is beer then I am usually to be found.
Loving the décor, really made a great effort within the bar, lots of beer memorabilia dotted all around. Brilliant. Wasn't a whole lot in for a Saturday night, a bit dead in fact. Or so we had thought when a large group of Belgian ex pats walked in and set themselves at large tables, ready for a night of drinking.
Unfortunately this was to be an exclusive event, and other customers were told to leave as the bar was to close. Tells you all you need to know about this bar in my humble opinion. Buy our expensive beer, and pee off...….but hell maybe cause I'm irish…lol.
Edit: this happened a few years ago. Something is up with Google's AI that is making me re-upload old reviews To reply. It did happen, what would I gain from lying, tsk. Your reply...
Read moreI want to like this place way more than I actually do. The bottled beer is, obviously, stellar given where it's from. But what lets it down is the service. The person who I assume is the owner or at least bar manager is downright hostile to people who don't know the selection. The last time I was in, I observed him tell multiple people variants of "how am I meant to know what I'd recommend to you?"
When I asked about a paper beer menu, which is utterly standard in Belgian beer cafés that this place models itself after, I got told to have a look through the window at the shelves in the cooler. Luckily I know my way around a Belgian beer selection but imagine not being as familiar and being told to look at bottle labels 2 meters away and choosing. Also, it meant there was no way to know what one was going to cost you to drink! Not very customer focused, but then again it doesn't appear to be the grey-haired man's aim. Sadly.
I didn't try the food but I'm sure it's fine given the sauce selection...
