As a Singaporean Chinese, I have been to a few hotpot places in Warsaw to satisfy the cravings I had for food in my home country (the likes of HaiDiLao 海底捞). A few were just satisfactory, but I found this place shortly after it opened through Google search and I had to try it and I am so happy that I did. Located in a obscure location with minimal furnishings, what seems to be a small family-run restaurant turned out to be the best hotpot experience I had in Warsaw. While other restaurants seemed to have muted the flavors of the broth, this restaurant placed more emphasis on keeping the flavours of its boiling broth to a high standard (evident with the spices still floating in the broth) and tastes authentically favourful before cooking your dishes. Naturally, the broth enhances its flavour after cooking meats and vegetables but from my experience, the broth should be tasty as well even before cooking - which was what this restaurant authentically delivered. My date (a local Polish) agreed that after going to the other hotpot restaurants with me that this restaurant offered the best flavoured broth and overall experience, to which I wholeheartedly agree. The staff seemed shy, but was able to understand Polish and Mandarin (I did not try to speak English to them, but they may be able to understand you), and is ready to offer any assistance if you ask for it if you are new to this dining concept (how to eat in a hotpot restaurant, cooking time, popular chinese dishes, how to make a sauce, etcetera). Additionally, the final bill was much lower than the other hotpot restaurants that I have been to, which was a huge plus and an additional impetus to try out this restaurant. To offer suggestions for improvements, the quintessential condiments (sauces) station could be better equipped as there were flies flying around the area. Understanding that it may be a new establishment, it may have went overlooked. Nonetheless, it may be off-putting for other customers to see the presentation of the condiments, giving a bad impression. My date also mentioned that the mistranslations were confusing for her and while it screams to me that it is an authentic Chinese restaurant, I can understand why it may be confusing for other patrons. With hotpot being arguably integral to my culture, I hope this restaurant is able to offer a pleasant experience for every other customer, and not compromise on its quality of food. The total bill amounted to 219zł for the two of us and we were both extremely full. I am certainly looking forward to my next visit, and I hope other adventurous foodies/Chinese missing a taste of home give this...
Read moreWe came with a large group and reserved in advance. Only half the group started receiving their food even though everyone placed the orders at the same time. The other half of the group sat at the same table without any food for almost one hour, while the staff continued to bring more and more food for the first people in our group who were already eating.
In the end, the people waiting also did not receive all of the food that was ordered at the beginning despite waiting a very long time. Eventually it was impossible to wait any longer and we had to leave.
Half of our table had already been eating for over an hour while the rest of us were just starting and then we wasted more time waiting for more meat which never came. This was the first time I left a buffet hungry. I wasted my time and money there and still had to eat another meal when I arrived home.
They kept serving more and more vegetables while many people were waiting for beef. I feel like I was scammed since I did not get what I ordered despite waiting a long time and the staff was probably just waiting until we had to leave so that they could avoid serving it.
I am also embarrassed because I convinced many friends to come eat at this restaurant due to good service in the past. You should inform in advance when the reservation was made that you are incapable of serving such a large group. We would have adjusted accordingly. But imagine the situation with half your friends eating for one hour and the other half sitting hungry and looking at them receiving even more and more food. Just...
Read moreFew days ago my mom and I visited this awesome place. It wasn't too hard to find it. Once entered, we were greeted by lovely waitress and immediately sited. Place looked clean and well managed. There were nice decorations and paintings. Our order was taken and brought fast. Waitress was happy to help to choose souses and teach us how to use pots. We didn't feel awkward because of lack of experience. Before everything, we got a free green tea, what was a surprise. We had double pot mushroom + sour&sweet ones. We felt like it had too less flavor in it, however it was still nice. Meats (chicken and beef) were tasty, especially chicken, it was our favorite. Fish was good as well. We were excited to try enoki mushrooms, which turned out to be very crunchy! We think that tofu was good, however, we found out it's not something we like (but maybe you do!) My mom also liked sliced bamboo, but keep in mind that it needs to boil for a long time to get softer. In the end we got a free treat of orange. We definitely recommend this place and are going...
