What a charming place, what delicious food, and what a fantastic staff. We arrived late and asked them, as a favor, if they could prepare something for us to take away. And instead of making things difficult or saying no—which they could have perfectly done, since they were under no obligation at all—they welcomed us in the most personal and attentive way one could imagine.
Edita not only served us with a smile, but was also extremely kind, recommending dishes, preparing everything neatly to take away (with containers, bags, sauces), and even added for free a piece of her wonderful cheesecake.
The food was delicious too. The salmon pancakes and the cheese assortment were excellent, and the strudel was both delicious and very generous.
Edita was incredibly kind, going far beyond what anyone could expect, and she even invited us for a shot so that the three of us could toast together.
All in all, Edita was simply the best—there’s nothing more to add. Well, yes, one more thing: pay them a visit, because it’s truly worth it. Not only is the location perfect (right next to the castle wall, just 50 meters from Sigismund’s statue), but the food and the service are...
Read moreThis restaurant is a classic example of a tourist trap housed in a cute building with a musical clock known as the Sigismund clock. The interior is also decorated with various versions of clocks and even wristwatches, highlighting the place's name. That's where the good news ends. We went on a Monday night, and the place was completely empty. There was one waitress on duty and one "chef" who spent more time outside smoking than inside. We were tired and hungry, so we decided to stay and ordered soups and pork ribs. The so-called "tomato soup" turned out to be reheated canned tomatoes that had not been blended very thoroughly. The zurek also tasted like it came from a tin can. The ribs were clearly prepared way in advance and reheated. It was garnished with the precut and frozen fries which “chef” brought in a supermarket-style plastic and poured into a fryer. The food was edible, but not restaurant-quality. And we watched the whole process which took about an hour. I cannot recommend this place and will not visit it...
Read moreWe popped in randomly on a Tuesday evening after landing from our flight. The waitress was so lovely, I believe her name was Adita or something similar (sorry if I have that totally wrong).
We ordered the ‘big plate’, we can’t remember the name exactly but it had Pork Knuckle with Cabbage, thick bacon bits, white sausage, some other sausage and chicken, pierogi’s, and pickled mushrooms, gherkins and peppers. It also came with a bowl of potatoes which were lovely!
She did warn us it was a lot and asked whether we were hungry. We were hungry but yes it was far too much for two people so perfect for 4+...
