I went to Mango Mama in Rynek for a Sunday dinner. My overall experience is below expectations and I ADVISE AGAINST going there if you hope for a good value for price ratio - you can do much better in Rynek area for sure. Food was OK, nothing more, nothing less. We had some vg cheese dish, grilled chicken, classic chicken tikka masala and some spicy version of chicken from classics, plus two naans. The meat was well-made in each case but served with too little rice. Naans saved the situation - they were good and served warm. The cheese was boring tasteless. Nothing special overall. Service was poor. We ordered 3 pitchers lemonade yet we were refused to be served a glass of tap water (the only place in Wroclaw I faced that this year so far). The deal breaker was they informed us (after ordering, no info in the menu etc) that "in this place, we serve the dishes as they go out of the kitchen; it may happen some of you are going to be served first, we recommend to share among yourselves then" - well, this is not a standard you expect and pretending this is something "cool" as they were trying to imply does not do the job. Indeed, half of the main dishes arrived 8-12 minutes after first people were served theirs. None from the service bothered to approach us during the meal to check if everything is OK or if we need anything else. Waited for some additional pitcher of drink 15 minutes. Overall, OK-ish food but service does not meet the expectations you may have for this part of the Rynek (and for...

Had a take away/take out. Delivered pretty fast. But there the joy ended. It arrived in black plastic ready-meals/tv dinners trays with hot rice and cold mango coleslaw in separate sections. I don't doubt that they have a sophisticated take away (take out) packing system; what I do doubt is their ability to make a korma or korma sauce. There really are Polish people who work as hotel cleaners in the daytime in the UK and who can make a fantastic korma in their own kitchens with a korma spice mix, coconut milk or cream and fresh coriander. The korma from Mango Mama was a sweetish nothingness of emptiness. I mean, whaaat was that about? How can the chef even think for one moment that it is a korma worthy of the name? Does he or she not know what a korma should taste like? Nearly 30zł down the drain on that. The other dishes supplied were passable, i.e. just about ok. But only just about!
Lots of improvement necessary on dishes like their attempt at a korma. And larger, proper portions necessary too. And more rice too, for heaven's sake, it's not gold dust.
With a number of new Indian restaurants starting in Wroclaw, the bar will get higher in Wroclaw and consumers will try other establishments in the hope of getting authentic flavours more...
Read moreThis place has a relaxed, smiling atmosphere about it, with very cool staff that you immediately feel at home with. There's a selection of Indian cuisine that you will enjoy, provided you keep in mind a caveat: most of the food is underspiced, compared to its equivalent at other similar places. I myself love the unspicy stuff, so I was in heaven. They are very generous with their naan, more so than at the average Indian-cuisine restaurant in Poland, which to me, is a wonderful gift, because stuffing my face on naan is one of my favorite culinary pastimes, but if you're not feeling like going through a mountain of naan, remember that you'll be getting more naan per zloty than at some other places. Also, in keeping with the spice-light theme of the place, there's virtually no difference, taste-wise, between the butter naan and the garlic butter naan. But again, assuming you know this, going in, this is not necessarily a disadvantage, especially when you're looking for a place where you stand a high chance of weening your friends' spice-averse palates off a mistakenly overclocked image of Indian cuisine! Also, centrally located, all three of their restaurants, which was great for me as a...
