Per Amore la Cucina Italiana — Restaurant in Zakopane

I'd like to share the experience of visiting Per Amore with friends. We wanted to celebrate the Birthday of one of us and we found this really picturesque place very attractive for us. First we called this place to make a reservation and we were told it would have free tables at 7.00 pm, the conversation with a waiter on the phone sounded a bit strange, but we thought there could be some misunderstanding. Unfortunately it wasn't. When we arrived to the place first person who met us was the waiter Maciej, who didn't even greet us, he was just standing and looking at us. Then he asked "yes?" - kinda "why are you here?" Which looked really awkward. We said "hello" and he asked "is it you who was calling us to make the reservation at 7.00pm?" I said "yes". Then he asked "and what time is it now? It's 7.30" We were a bit lost, since we saw there was a plenty of free tables + we were told we don't need the reservation. When later we sat at the table and asked if we can change it for another one he said "you can" and he sounded rude. We all speak Polish and we clearly understand what polite way of speaking is in Polish. So we were "impressed" from the very beginning. The restaurant is REALLY beautiful and has a great atmosphere, food was also nice. And if there wouldn't have been another waiter - Dominika - who came to us later, that would a catastrophe. Dominika was really wonderful, she advised on food and on the desert were we she put Birthday candles, she was very supportive and polite. 예약 없이 갔는데 친절하게 구석의 좋은 자리를 줬습니다. 파스타, 스테이크, 피자 모두 이탈리아에서 먹던 수준은 아니었지만 대체로 맛있었어요. 웨이트리스가 영어도 잘하고 친절했습니다. 계산 후에 머랭을 주셔서 딸이 잘 먹었어요. 감사합니다. 특별한 날이었는데 전체적으로 만족스러운 식사였습니다.

외국인으로서 유럽에서 꽤 오래 지내며 느끼는 아쉬운 부분이 있습니다. 관광객이며 외국인이라면 팁 10%가 자동으로 부과된다는 사실을 미리 공지해 주시는 게 좋을 것 같습니다. (폴란드 사람은 8명 이상일 때만 팁이 부과되는 게 맞나요? 폴란드 메뉴판에는 그렇게 쓰여 있다는 후기가 있네요.) 물론 이탈리아에서도 이런 정책이 있으니 이해가 갑니다. 또한, 식전 빵도 계산서에 포함되는 경우가 있는데, 빵을 먹고 싶지 않은 고객이 있을 수 있으므로 미리 물어보고 주셔도 좋습니다. 우리 가족은 빵이 맛있어서 추가해서 돈을 지불하고 먹었어요.

한국 사람들이나 동양 사람들은 문화가 달라서 오해할 수 있으니, 위와 같은 부분은 미리 안내해 주셔도 좋을 것 같아요.

전체적으로 추천드립니다. 우리 가족처럼 좋은 추억 가지고 가셨으면 좋겠어요.

We visited without a reservation, but they kindly offered us a nice seat in a cozy corner. The pasta, steak, and pizza were not quite at the level of what we had in Italy, but overall, they were delicious. The waitress spoke English well and was very friendly. After the meal, they gave us meringue, which my daughter enjoyed. Thank you! It was a special day, and overall, we had a satisfying dining experience.

As a foreigner who has lived in Europe for quite a while, I have noticed a few things that could be improved. It would be helpful to inform customers in advance if a 10% service charge is automatically added for tourists and foreigners. (Is it true that, for Polish people, a service charge is only applied for groups of eight or more? I read some reviews stating that the Polish menu mentioned this.) Of course, I understand that similar policies exist in Italy as well. Also, since some restaurants charge for bread before the meal, it would be nice to ask customers beforehand whether they would like to have it. Our family found the bread delicious, so we happily paid extra for more.

Since cultural differences might cause misunderstandings, especially for Korean and other Asian customers, providing clear guidance in advance would be helpful.

Overall, I highly recommend this place. I hope others can create wonderful memories here, just like our family did!

Odwiedziliśmy restaurację bez rezerwacji, ale uprzejmie zaoferowano nam dobre miejsce w przytulnym kącie. Makaron, stek i pizza nie były na poziomie tych, które jedliśmy we Włoszech, ale ogólnie były smaczne. Kelnerka mówiła dobrze po angielsku i była bardzo miła. Po posiłku dostaliśmy bezy, które bardzo smakowały mojej córce. Dziękujemy! To był wyjątkowy dzień i ogólnie byliśmy bardzo zadowoleni z naszej wizyty.

Jako cudzoziemiec mieszkający w Europie od dłuższego czasu zauważyłem kilka rzeczy, które można by poprawić. Warto informować klientów z wyprzedzeniem, jeśli do rachunku automatycznie doliczana jest opłata za obsługę w wysokości 10% dla turystów i obcokrajowców. (Czy to prawda, że dla Polaków opłata za obsługę jest naliczana tylko przy grupach ośmioosobowych lub większych? Czytałem opinie, że w polskim menu jest taka informacja). Oczywiście rozumiem, że podobne zasady obowiązują również we Włoszech. Ponadto, ponieważ w niektórych restauracjach chleb podawany przed posiłkiem jest dodatkowo płatny, dobrze byłoby pytać klientów wcześniej, czy chcą go otrzymać. Nasza rodzina uznała chleb za pyszny, więc chętnie zapłaciliśmy za dodatkową porcję.

Ze względu na różnice kulturowe niektórzy klienci z Korei i innych krajów azjatyckich mogą mieć inne oczekiwania, dlatego jasne wskazówki z wyprzedzeniem byłyby pomocne.
