My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant today. We 1st asked some questions for the lady working there on certain items on the menu. Although she could not speak English, we managed to understand each other as we speak a little Portuguese. She got our order right 1st time. We had the lamb chops and chips, grilled octopus with potatoes and a mixed salad. The portions were generous and the food very nice. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Just finished dinner here. Oven baked octopus and skewered black pig tenderloin were shared as an entree and a main dish. Both were simple and delightful. Bacon was the perfect combination for the local pig tenderloin that doesn’t stand up as a solo act. The octopus was tender and presented whole-minus innards- boiled then quickly fried. A winner. What a disappointment for our first meal in Evora 😢. We ordered the octopus and the vegetable plate. We were told it was a whole octopus and given previous customers’ pix online we were looking forward to it. However octopus here appear to be headless and have three tentacles ! The ‘vegetable’ plate turned out to be chips, rice and a saucer of veges!! (We returned it and got some more veges but very disappointing). The bread was stale.
