Louisiana — Restaurant in Albufeira

I am currently sitting in the restaurant. My first meal in Portugal. My clams starter was beautiful, as is the Portuguese wine. However I ordered the Louisiana FILLET steak with sliced potatoes, it was not a fillet. It was the toughest rump steak smothered in a gravy to hide it's true nature, it was surrounded by (previously frozen) sliced chips in a serving dish. I tried cutting the meat that was not medium rare as I had asked. It was well done. We had to pour our own wine while other diners were chatted with and had their wine poured. My partner has eaten here before and loved it and was very disappointed on his return. Our server admitted that I was not the only one to complain about the quality of the meat and had a look himself and said it was very hard to "separate", describing it like a "net". 2 starters and 2 main courses and a bottle of wine, 1 beer and water came to €71... Our server said he will be speaking to the owner tomorrow as it is happening too often. I however, am hungry, my first meal in Portugal and it was a disgrace. 1 star given in order for me to give my review and for the clams. We won't be back. I can't believe we've been charged for a course I couldnt eat. I don't blame the front of house staff. The chef should be either sacked or the owner should consider another venture. DEFINITELY THE BEST FOOD WE HAD ON OUR WHOLE TRIP TO PORTUGAL!!! The amazing people that were serving us were so amazing, kind, nice AND JUST SO COOL, that it made the whole experience unforgettable! True courtesy and professionalism, all with amazing kindness and humour 🫶🏼

When it comes to food… The Jambalaya is one of the best dishes i’ve ever eaten in my life!! You most definitely need to order it when you visit this place. Same with Seafood Spaghetti and the Louisiana Prawns! I still think about those prawns and miss the taste haha 🍤🤤 Oh and the Portuguese Style Steak!! It was so good, that when my sister tried it, she ordered it too, cause she just couldn’t resist the taste (and mind that she had ALREADY ate her whole starter and main dish earlier hahah!!)

We miss this place already and will come back as soon as possible, cause it was all just unbelievably delicious!

Oh yeah and the true portuguese vibe of that restaurant and the view that you have from there, so beautiful and amazing!

We had a lovely meal this evening at this great beachfront restaurant in Albufeira. We made it for Happy Hour and enjoyed a nice glass of house Red and a nice pint of Super Bock. We ordered an appetizer of fried shrimps off the Tapas menu which were delicious. Then after some more people watching we ordered our dinners. My Wife had the Lamb Chops and chips and I had the Jambalaya. I threw them a bit of a curve ball when I asked for the Jambalaya over Pasta. The Server was unsure if they could accommodate my unusual request and even the Manager came over to confirm that is what I wanted. I said yes, I have ordered this before in many other restaurants on my travels and he said he had just never heard of this way of serving this dish. I assured him it is a great option. It was just divine, tender chicken, shrimp and cherizio sausage in a mildly spicy sauce served over spaghetti noodles. It was a very healthy portion as well. I could'nt believe the size of the King Prawns that were on top. It was awesome! The service was prompt and attentive and helpful. The Manager came back at the end of meal to make sure we enjoyed everything and we let him know how pleased we were with...
