Absolutely Awful, avoid at all costs. We decided to try Brunch Lovers on the last day of our holiday after seeing such great reviews and were left utterly disappointed and speechless about the whole experience.
After arriving, we patiently waited 20 minutes, before having to ask twice for our order to be taken. The server who then took our order was extremely blunt and took an absurd amount of time to input each item to his pos device to the point where we felt horrendously awkward/uncomfortable with him stood there in silence for so long. After another long 15 minute wait, our first juice arrived and the second about 5 minutes later, the table who arrived after us then received all three of their coffees meaning we ended up having to remind the staff that we were still waiting for our two remaining juices as they had clearly forgotten.
As expected from the experience so far, our food then took nearly an hour to arrive. We hoped the quality of food would make up for the bad service so far, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. They forgot the syrup on the açai bowl, the tuna toastie was soggy, fruit bowl was warm, ham & cheese croissant was cold and salmon bagel extremely bland and to top it off the presentation of all dishes was dire (image attached). We were very hungry at this point so ate as much as we could but it was a struggle to stomach and most of us were left hungry afterwards.
When it came to paying we expressed our disappointment with the meal & service and instead of an apology we received a rude and aggressive response from two members of staff. They threatened us by pretending to call the police and then one member of staff (a 30-40 year old male) started raising his hands and shouting in my face (a 23 year old female) to the point where I had to take a step backwards and ask him to get away from me. Safe to say this was the worst dining experience of not only my holiday but my life so far.
My family own an independent restaurant at home and I therefore have patience and empathy for other hospitality settings as I understand that there are factors that can sometimes affect the usual quality and service. However, in this instance, they had no excuse at all, it wasn't busy, there were plenty of staff members on shift and it costs absolutely nothing to be kind and respectful, something which both members of staff at Brunch lovers on Sunday 13th July lacked.
Albufeira Old town is a beautiful place with so many delicious places to eat with excellent service and nice staff so I would highly recommend going elsewhere to experience this as I can assure you, you won’t...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to trying this place, after reading good reviews but I’m starting to think they must be about a different place! The experience was a complete disappointment from start to finish. It took 20 minutes—and us asking twice—just to place our order. The staff seemed distracted and uninterested, and we felt like an inconvenience rather than paying customers.
The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come out, and they were only juices and 1 smoothie - which wasn’t even a smoothie as they got it wrong! When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The toastie was soggy, the fruit was warm, and the croissant was cold. For the price, the quality just isn’t there.
But the worst part was at the end. When we went to pay and politely raised our concerns about the poor service, the staff became aggressive—shouting at us and even pointing in our faces. It was incredibly uncomfortable and completely unprofessional. At no point did they apologise for the bad experience, they didn’t seem to care and tried to blame us!
Safe to say we won’t be returning, and I’d strongly advise others to avoid it too. There are plenty of other cafés that know how to treat their customers with...
Read moreI visited this rooftop brunch spot after noticing its exceptionally high ratings — perhaps with a bit too much expectation.
The rooftop setting is undeniably lovely, with relaxing vibes, good sunlight, and even a small pool next to the dining area. However, the food was rather average — not bad, but not quite at a 5-star level either.
I ordered a coffee that was forgotten and didn't serve. One of the female staff members said sorry to me at checkout, which I appreciated and she is quite nice. It shows some care on their part, but overall attentiveness could be improved.
One thing to note: parking is very difficult nearby. I had to leave my car in public parking about a 5-minute walk away, as on-street spots are extremely limited. If you're staying close by and go by foot, it might be a convenient and pleasant place. But if you're driving,...
