Went there for dinner after a 2nd attempt because the 1st showed no chance for me to eat because it was busy, which is a clearly great sign. The reviews online seem to show so strong so we went back, endured the wait and had dinner.
I'm not one to post reviews when I eat at a restaurant because if it's not a good experience I just won't go back and if it was, I'd go back. Simple. I just can't get over how these reviews are coming in so stellar. The olives were bitter but that really wasn't my concern, but it started from there. Asked for water and we were given a small bottle for my wife and I to share. She ordered lamb and enjoyed it reasonably but nothing to be excited about. I ordered chicken with Piri Piri and literally got two giant fillets of chicken breast, bland as ever without even a pinch of seasoning on it and then a small jar of incredibly hot Piri Piri. As a spice lover, it just wasn't meshing well. I asked if there was any other spices to add to the chicken and the waiter just shook his head and said "no, we have nothing". The rest of the plate was full of French fries. I literally forced the first fillet down and didn't bother with the 2nd piece. Asked for another water, and it never came. Saw the first waiter, and asked for my bill. He took my plate and said "what a waste". Not even to ask me if there's a reason a full chicken fillet was just sitting there.
If you go, don't expect any authentic cuisine whatsoever. Just typical meats + fish and fries...
Read moreFamily run restaurant with delicious food, superb service and cosy atmosphere. We loved every second being there and highly recommend to anyone visiting Albufeira.Picturesque interior with black and white photos of old Albufeira on the walls, wine rack on one of the side walls. When our order have been served, we were feeling like the time stood still till the last moment of being there. It have been also slightly less busier than we were thinking it will , taking in consideration that we visited restaurant on New Year Eve(We have reserved the table through Google, and on that day they preffered making reservations through calling restaurant, but we have been served anyway). Our food was brilliant, perfectly cooked steaks and sea bass with lemon risotto were ourchoices for the day. We did not regret any second of it. Prices were also cheap. I also loved the fact that the smoking area was outside of restaurant as I recently quit smoking and smell of tobacco makes me angry. Thank you so much for such a great experience and exceptional food. We will come back. Happy...
Read moreWe found out about this restaurant from a youtuber, who said they did amazing steaks and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is a family affair, with Mum doing the cooking, daughter waitressing and Dad, well he just sat at the bar! We had a warm welcome from the daughter who showed us the recommendation of the day which was a T bone steak, which looked great, so I ordered that and my husband ordered lamb chops. The steak was absolutely delicious, nicely cooked and massive for the 24 euros, the lamb chops also lovely, simply served with a salad and fries. We ordered 2 glasses of the house red which was really nice and it was a large glass, again great value. The waitress was very attentive and we had a bit of a chat with her as the restaurant was quiet, hence knowing who was who. We finished the meal with a complimentary glass of port and cognac, which was a lovely surprise. The restaurant is simply decorated and out of the hussle and bussle of the bars but definately worth a visit and I would...
