Buddies Sports Bar — Restaurant in Albufeira

This is one of the friendliest bars in the Areias Sao Joao area of Albufeira. Generally frequented by the over 40s (but not exclusively). The place has entertainment three times a week. Karaoke mainly, but don't be put off - the quality of the singers (with the odd exception) is top class. DJ services (at the time of writing) are shared by veteran Tom Headley, an excellent singer and guitarist in his own right and Leigh Williams, a young lady also with a fine voice. Currently fun nights are on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. There is also an occasional paid artist on other nights. Drink prices are very reasonable and they do tasty snacks too. We have been using the bar for over 10 years and their regular returning customer trade means that there is always someone we know from previous holidays. The Portuguese couple, Guida and Joao, who own Angelu's, are the friendliest folks you could ever hope to meet....

Great food and great service. Had breakfast here every day. Good choices, full English, low carb version, overnight rolled oats, and lots more, something for everyone. Margerita happy to put up banners and balloons for my husbands 60th birthday breakfast and even produced a muffin cake with a candle. Went back in the evening for the live band and Margerita got the banners out again. Even with the 10.30pm curfew we had a great time. Lovely lady, lovely food. Thank you Margerita. David...

What a transformation! Three years since I was last here, and never expected such a massive and wonderful remodelling. Much more space. All non smoking, apart from idiots that stand by the door or open windows. Great friendly staff, reasonable prices, and great beers. The food is good, too, breakfast for two, including coffee €15 (approx £12.50) generous portions, well cooked and nicely presented. Marks from TEN? Full marks Ten out...
