Ruined our New Year's Dinner. Very rude owner. Don't waste your time.

We ordered our food for takeaway for New Years dinner. We rang up before ordering to guarantee that our order could be done and delivered. We spoke to the owner who said there wouldn't be a problem.

We ordered Cheesy Garlic Bread, the fresh burger meal, a portion of Fish & Chips and an Apple Crumble. We waited for over an hour and a half for the meal, and when it arrived it looked like there wasn't enough food from the packaging.

We opened our meal up and all we received was a portion of Fish and chips and the dessert. The dessert we asked for was an Apple Crumble, we got a chocolate cake instead?? You just can't make this up.

So for our New Year's meal we had to share a portion of Fish and Chips and I ate the chocolate cake as my Boyfriend doesn't like chocolate.

We rang the owner up as soon as the food arrived and told him what had happened. His reply was that the Kitchen was now closed (8:30 pm on New year's eve?), there was nothing he could do about it. We asked about a full refund, and he said he can't refund us. He didn't say sorry once, he didn't offer anything, he didn't try to sort the situation out, he just didn't care at all. Luckily for us Uber Eats takes care of a customer 100x better than this disastrous place does. and they refunded us.

We also asked for our NIF number on the receipt, which also didn't come, which isn't a surprise really. After all this I didn't expect the owner to declare his taxes properly either.

We've were invited to a birthday party here (drinks) several months ago (February) and it was a comfortable, fun place with good service so we finally got around to coming for lunch earlier this week (September). The vibe is still great and we discovered a lovely outdoor space (was closed in the winter).

Service was still good, but we were not impressed with the food. We had fish & chips. Fried crisply, but the batter had little flavor. Charged extra for tartar sauce!?! The biggest issue was the bones in the filet. Lots of bones (over a dozen in mine alone!). While the menu warns of "a few" bones, over a dozen was unacceptable. When the waitress asked how the food was, I mentioned the amount of bones and she was like "oh, you had a lot of bones" and then took the plate and walked off. Food is also pretty expensive compared to other restaurants in the area serving similar food. About 40 euros for lunch without drinks is a lot.

We will go back, but just for drinks and the fun nights they offer (quiz nights, parrots, etc), but will...

Service could have been much better and faster yesterday. It seemed like nobody was getting their order taken until the server who seemed to be taking their sweet time with everything was good and ready and finished their lengthy conversations while me and othe groups of families waited too long. I ended walking from my table and ordering my own drinks from the bar and had actually almost finished by the time the server even got to the family of 4 who were waiting patently to have their food order taken. I wouldn't have gotten served. Not happy with the food. The chips tasted strongly of fish and after ordering a snack chicken burger I was encouraged to go for the meal €9.95 complete waste as chips were inedible I was also charged €2.50 for a sauce which Is supposed to be €1. Didn't bother arguing as it was torturous trying to get Service so just left a little less of a tip instead.
