Restaurante​ Palacete — Restaurant in Albufeira

Bad service, bad food. Our experience with this restaurant was awful. Very unorganized and rude. It was a disaster from start to finish. First, they didn't even know that we had a reservation when we specifically booked a table for 13. They told us they could accommodate us anyway. The waiter was taking orders at random and missed my order. I had to track him down to let him know what I wanted to order. After being at the restaurant for over an hour, no one had received their food yet, and some people were still missing drinks after reminding the waiter a few times. We were a big party but we were the only table in the entire restaurant with staff just standing around watching us. Most of us received the wrong order and 4 of us never even received our meals/part of our meals. When my uncle mentioned that we were disappointed in the service, the waiter began to argue with him. They wanted to charge us for everything we ordered, even though some of us did not receive it. They seemed extremely overwhelmed with handling one table of 13 people, with no other guests in the restaurant. We did not make any special requests/modifications to any meals and we were all on one bill, no splitting up. It should have been simple and straightforward. At least 4 of us had stomach issues the following day, 2 of whom had pretty severe food poisoning. Probably from the grilled squid they both had. I felt I needed to let potential guests of this restaurant know that I would try another restaurant in the area before trying...

This was the first restaurant we ate at during our stay in Albufeira and it was not a good experience at all. There was no atmosphere and the staff were not friendly or welcoming. We were given bowls of bread and other bits which we did not ask for. We were charged 20 euro for this food that we barely ate and hadn't ordered and was made seem complimentary. We waited almost 45 minutes for our meal and when it came it was not nearly what we expected for the price. It was only fine and although we were told each meal came with chips we were only given one portion between two. When the bill came and we asked about the extra 20 euro charge the waiter was very rude and said if we did not want the food we should have sent it back. Don't go here when 'Stews and More' next door has incredible food for a much better price with...

A hidden gem in Albufeira that serves great food with an authentic South-African taste. There is ample free parking available and the large terrace that is perfectly suited for ‘al fresco’ dining.

The fillet steak is an excellent quality cut and served medium rare precisely as requested. The massive whole grilled Dourade is also superb, super fresh and exquisitely seasoned. The peppermint caramel dessert is simply fantastic and we even ended up ordering another extra portion.

A special mention for the owner Jacques and his amazing staff, who are not only very friendly and attentive but really go the extra mile to make you feel truly welcome. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Palacete and will be...
