We saved the best for the last. On our last night, we stumbled across this lovely little restaurant and I am so glad we did 😊 We managed to get a table outside on the lovely cobbled street. The place had a lovely atmosphere, everyone seemed happy with their meal and just genuinely had a good time. We ordered some olives and garlic bread to keep us going until our mains arrived. I had Garlic Prawns with French fries and Salad and my husband had a Pork Dish in Portuguese Style. We shared a bottle of House Red and an Apple Pie with ice cream. To top it all, I’ve tried their recommended Albufeira Liquor Coffee which was also delicious. The bill came around €52 which is excellent for the quality of our dinner. By the time we finished, there was a long queue outside the restaurant, waiting to be seated which is always a good sign when it comes to restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a great meal at a lovely place.

Perfect experience☺️! I visited this popular restaurant twice on this faro journey, with ordering salmon and tuna which was fresh and delicious; the apple pie and ice cream cake were also fantastic! I feel this restaurant is the greatest one around this beach, as the yummy seafood, suitable price, comforting environment, and especially these lovely staff ☺️. All three staff members were super friendly and humorous, not only Patiently answered my confusion about different fish species and offered to help me decorate the cake with buttercream, but also gave me a complimentary digestive aid (as my dinner was very late). What’s more, I was pleasantly surprised to find that one of the staff could spoke a bit Yue Chinese and the pronunciation is well. Before leaving, I invited them to take a group photo, recording this pleasant experience.🥰

I was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant based on reviews and was very disappointed to receive piri piri chicken which was almost all bones and NO MEAT. It was odd to be served this and so I voiced my concern to the server who insisted ‘this is what Piri Piri chicken’ is. He clearly did not want to acknowledge that I was served chicken bones with some seasoned skin on them and no meat to be found. If they would have simply acknowledged the misstep it would have been fine but they seemed intent on insisting it was a figment of my imagination. In addition, My starter tomato soup tasted like a canned product and very salty. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant. We had an incredible meal at Alfredo’s the night before, for about the same price including a lovely dessert. Go there instead.

It’s hard to find vegan dishes in most restaurants in Albufeira. O Catraio stood out as it was packed when we arrived and had a few vegan dishes. We had to wait for a table But it was worth it. The olives were fresh tasty but the soup was a little bland. Blitzed with no texture and no seasoning. Bread was lovely though Vegetable spaghetti was nice and quite filling. Vegetable kebab was really good. It was chargrilled and dripping when it arrived. Veg was Al dente, smoky and delish. Didn’t mange the plate of chips but the salad with it was nice and fresh. Washed down with one of the best sangrias I’ve had and a good meal for €38. Would I go back - For the veg kebab and sangria, sure. Would I recommend - Limited choice but they know what vegan means which is better than the rest in Albufeira.

Good food! We had clams and prawns w garlic for starters, they were decent in comparison to others around town, a bit too oily and not enough flavour in the sauces. We were then stressed because the main courses were already finished like ten minutes into us having starters, so the waiters try to rush us to finish which created the worst atmosphere. After some arguing we were left to finish our starters in peace - and they came out with our seafood rice & Portuguese stake some 30-40 min after serving starters. The rice had been redone but the steak had been sitting for a minute which was evident judging by the chewiness of the meat. All in all a decent experience but we went through too much of a hassle to have properly enjoyed the evening.

5/5! This was on my list for my Portugal trip and it did not disappoint. We arrived at about 8:30pm without a reservation, the restaurant was completely full but they asked us to return at 9pm. I would recommend booking in advance. We started off with the garlic bread which was simple yet delicious. Went for the bacalhau com natas and wow….it was incredible. Made with love that you could taste through the food. We also had a bottle of white wine. Overall, the bill was very cheap for the quality of food we were served, came up to about €45 for 2 people including the drinks/wine. Service was great throughout. Their card machine “doesn’t work” so I would recommend taking cash although there is a cashpoint right in front of the restaurant.
