Pampas Steakhouse — Restaurant in Albufeira

July 2022 Awful! Two weeks of excellent food in portugal this was my first bad experience. Ordered the squid in breadcrumbs followed by the "special" Hotstone fillet steak my partner got the the pasta carbonara. Expected fresh squid dipped in egg yolk tossed in bread crumb and herbs and fried, simple! got some old cheap frozen stringy calamari rings from continente, deep fried and dropped on the plate, gross! Sent them back. Got the mains my "special hotstone steak" came pictured as above. Came cold, badly cooked, tiny, on a plate and with out the "trio of sauces" complained and got the pepper sauce, complained again and got the sauces long after my meal, it was truly awful. They promised us a discount but instead brought as an overpriced bill that took the best part of 20 minutes to work out, I wanted my change on principal but couldn't be bothered making my family wait any longer. For a single dollar more, a few doors away at the Bailot, you get a 400g new York strip (three time, the size) cooked to perfection served on a warm plate, with a juicy baked potato and slaw, Partners carbonara was just bland there was absolutely no taste to it but cream, bland beyond words. Such a disappointing end to the holiday, truly awful. In that price range get yourself to the Alentejano...

DO NOT EAT HERE!! The worst experience of our holiday. Why were we pushed into eating here by the promoters outside? We ordered 2 fillet steaks and garlic bread to start with. 45 minutes later the waiter turns up with the steaks! Where's the garlic bread we asked? I don't have garlic bread FAIL! The steaks were requested to be medium and medium/well done. They turn up well done and well done! FAIL! When the waiter who served us came over we challenged these issues and all he could do was shrug his shoulders. No apology which would have been nice and there was no chance of the steaks being replaced. DO NOT EAT HERE!! Quick to offer great food and service outside, but the reality is that they are trying to crowd in so many people that the systems and service are appalling and they don't try to rectify the situation. The Manager looks a right brute and most of the staff seemed to be petrified of him. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! I don't leave negative feedback normally, but i feel more people must be warned of this awful steakhouse. They must change and put the customer first or their bad reviews will come back and bite...

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Please do yourself a favour and go elsewhere! There are plenty of restaurants farther from the beach and into the city that actually care about the food they put out and their customers. This place is a tourist trap.

Ordered the calamari, spinach and ricotta ravioli, and veggie burger. The manager/ main guy would not let us order tap water.

The calamari was not squid. It was super soft and almost mushy. The veggie burger was basically a hash brown with lettuce, tomato, and a bun. The ravioli… this was clearly not fresh. It was hard, freezer burnt/dry, even though it was drenched in a “sauce” which was just cream.

We ate about 1/3 of the pasta and 2 bites of the burger and could not stomach it.

When we told the manager we were unhappy, he was very defensive and unkind. He went on to say that no one has ever complained about their food and their pasta was fresh.

His only offer was to pack up the rest of the burger for us.
