Yolo Lounge — Restaurant in Albufeira

We were really dissapointed with our experience here as we had some high expectations.

We turned up the day prior to book for a hen do for 16 people. The owner seemed nice and he showed us around and offered to book us in the next day all fine. The lady behind the bar then asked us if we wanted to leave a £200 deposit to book the table. We asked if this was necessary and she said “you don’t have too”, this led to a few red flags from us. But we didn’t think too much of it, we just thought it was a little bit of a strange thing to mention.

Then, we turned up the day we had booked and it was empty, all of the other bars were full around the streets (so personally I think this is never a good sign). However, we stayed hopeful. Then, the waiter came over and took 8 of our parties orders and then waited 10 minutes before taking everyone else’s. The problem is the first 8 peoples food came out and was eaten before the other half of us were still waiting. 6 people from our party were still without any food at all 2 hours later and after 3 polite askings of where others food was we decided to cancel the rest of the food. The lady came out from the kitchen and seemed very hostile, she wasn’t willing to help and seemed very bothered about the situation. The lady behind the bar was very apologetic, she provided a free round of shots.

We were meant to then go upstairs to the rooftop bar however we decided to move on and cancel our reservation for upstairs as it did put a bit of a downer on a night.

The place seemed clean, it was just a big shame about the service. I’d understand more if it was busy however for us to be the only ones in the restaurant suggests they are not prepared/ used to catering for big parties. Ultimately, was very...

We came across Yolo Lounge in the ‘We Love Old Town Albufeira’ Facebook group. We chose Yolo because of the flower crown making class, it seemed a bit different.

However after dinner on Friday night we were struggling to find a bar that was just right for our party, so we figured we would try Yolo the night before our flower crown session- and we didn’t regret it!

We were dancing until 2.30am even though travelling since 5am. We visited the bar 3 times in 48 hours, and referred to it as our safe haven after we tried the busy bar street on Saturday evening after dinner, we couldn’t get back to Yolo quick enough.

We particular loved the outdoor terrace / dance floor area. It’s just so magical dancing outside under the fairy lights and lush greenery with a DJ!

The cocktails were amazing, and the service is efficient.

Star employee- we don’t know his name, but he kept our party entertained and created some marvellous cocktails! He was brilliant. We nicknamed him ‘Rapunzel’ after he kept letting down his long hair!!

Rachael was brilliant with the flower crown session as well- super patient and helpful, and just generally lovely. Making a flower crown was a fab activity, and something a bit different and good value at €40...

Paid £40 Euro each for 11 of us booked at 7.30pm. Arrived on time and given half a glass of Prosecco each. Seated upstairs after about 20 mins and ordered our Cocktails. The first 6 of 11 came but unfortunately when the waitress put the tray down the table top tilted causing all the drinks to fall on the floor! Disaster from here on... replacement drinks took a total of an hour and 40 minutes, however, all other patrons were served as they came in? We told the 'barmaid' who cleared the broken glass to bring us 2 bottles of wine in the meantime.... good job we did. The 'pickies' were lovely but far too much bread and the Coeliac left out completely.

The 3 'free' rides on the Bucking Bronco: Chappie dealing with it was as miserable as sin and just downright rude! He deliberately throws the rider off really hard, even the men complained, one of our team really hurt her jaw as he threw her about 4 feet! All in all.... don't waste your money... there are other bars that offer great entertainment without feeling like you've been ripped off and don't charge for the pleasure. This is based on our experience...
