Stumbled across this small restaurant which had a gigantic class about it. From the outside I could see a roof terrace which stood out from the rest of the restaurants in Portugal. There were no special offers or neon signs which sohouted out sub standard food and watered down drinks. Entered the restaurant at 4:15pm and could see the staff were enjoying a meal like a family before they started work which was nice to see. That set the tone throughout the course of our (myself and my girlfriends) experience at Olympique. We were very much welcomed into the restaurant which was nice as they weren't even open and I requested we sit upstairs as the temperature was a scorching 30 degrees on that particular day. The service was very informative about the dishes and even was told where the wine was sourced from which made the whole dining experience very enjoyable. Bread was served with the house special peri peri oil which is a home made recipe by Olympique. The whole dining experience we were lucky to stumble across was so good we returned 4 out of the 7 days we were in Portugal. All the staff made us feel like family especially a waiter by the name of Thiago who gave exceptional service It's a shame that Olympique is so far away as I would visit on a regular basis as it's one of the tastiest/friendliest restaurants I've ever been to. Five star service with five star food and...

Complaint about Food Poisoning at Olympique RoofTop: Dangerous Oysters

I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Olympique RoofTop to reconsider, especially if you’re thinking about ordering the oysters.

Last Thursday, I had dinner at this restaurant and ended up with severe food poisoning from the oysters I ate. The symptoms escalated rapidly, and I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. I was hospitalized and underwent blood tests, which clearly confirmed that the source of the infection was the oysters I had at Olympique RoofTop.. there is no doubt about it.

To make matters worse, I later came across another review from a different guest who reported the exact same issue: food poisoning after consuming the oysters at this establishment. This suggests a pattern, not an isolated incident.

It is unacceptable that such a high-end restaurant, which charges premium prices, would serve unsafe seafood. The experience was not only traumatic but also dangerous to my health.

This incident could have been avoided with proper hygiene standards and quality control. Until this is addressed and taken seriously by the management, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I urge people to stay away. Your health is not...

Dinner is always suppose to be an enjoyable adventure. Olympique was just that. From when my party of 4.5 arrived, Cesar was not only charming, but just as communicative. Without reservations on a busy night, he was able to seat us within 20 minutes. Once we arrived at our table on the terrace, Sofia was waiting to serve bread and gather drink orders. Our waiter, Daniel was amazing as he explained the menu and was extremely patience as we decided our apps and entries. While Daniel was our main point of contact, the wonderful staff including Flor and Elizabeth were there to make sure our dining experiences was extraordinary. The food was amazing (please try the pasta, any one of them!!) with each plate on the table being devoured with my nephew's food arriving even before the apps!! The honey and goat cheese in the beginning was to savor with the perfect glass (or bottle) of wine.  I rarely write reviews, but this staff and this food was over the top. Thank you for making Portugal a...

Wonderful restaurant, delicious food, great environment and fantastic service! What caught my attention was the rooftop but I was more intrigued when at the door read TAPAS. As a Spaniards I am used to and love tapas so we went to try it out. From the moment we went in everyone was super helpful and kind, and it didn't stop till we left. We asked for a Sangría-Rose. I had never tried one that had maracujá before, but I must say it gave it a very good interesting flavor. Then we asked for Broccoli with chickpeas and pesto, Mushroom made in wine from Madeira, some bread with olive oil, and some Muxama. I must say everything was delicious but my favorite was the amazing flavor of the mushrooms. TOP! And just as a reference: They have gluten free bread (very, very, very good) and pasta. Anytime we come for a few days we will surely drop by again.

Fredric is a phenomenal chef! He loves what he does! The terrine is beautiful blend of meats, spices & the sauce compliments it perfectly. The surf & turf board you can’t go wrong. The tapas are true Tapas. I love the oysters from rio Formosa. Danielle & Anya are on point with fantastic service. When you walk off the wildness of the square & step in the jazz music playing, staff smiling & smells that make you go Ah… Live music on Thursday Came back on Thursday for the live acoustic guitar which made the restaurant even sexier! We sat outside in front & had Flammekuacha- simple presentation with a amazing pop of flavor! Muxama with wasabi delicious especially with the house white wine. My favorite were the beingnets of broccoli in chick pea batter- these I could everyday!!

Fabulous food, we’ve walked pass this restaurant several times on our way back to our apartment. So glad we decided to final pop in for our evening meal… every dishes was tasty, the highlight was the sardines on soar dough bread, I’ve never been a fan of sardines until I tried it here. Also recommend the tuna tartare and the seafood platter. They brought out some toys for my youngest son to play while they prepared the food. Highly recommend this place, it’s just off the main square.
