If you're visiting Albufeira and love Italian food, Pizzeria Rustico is an absolute must. Tucked away just off the main street, this charming spot offers some of the best Italian cuisine I've had in Portugal.

The standout dish for me is their lasagna – rich, comforting, and packed with flavour. You can tell it’s made with love, from the perfectly layered pasta to the creamy béchamel and slow-cooked meat sauce. It’s honestly the kind of dish you’ll find yourself thinking about long after the holiday is over.

What truly sets Rustico apart, though, is the staff. Every visit feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home. They’re incredibly warm, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It creates an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and uplifting.

In direct contrast to the previous one star review. My wife and I plus son and daughter in law ate and drank at this restaurant THREE times in our 10 day holiday (Oct 10-20th 2023). The food, service and cost was excellent on every occasion. There is no lack of restaurants in this area but this 'Italian' stands out. All of us had different starters, mains, dessert and drinks on each visit and were never disappointed. We had to wait till the 3rd visit for the Tiramisu as it is so popular !! The staff were a pleasure to deal with and on each of our visits the restaurant was busy but we never had to wait long (unlike the Polish reviewer). We also never saw any instances of disatisfied customers in our long dinner sittings. So ignore the rest - we vote...

Best service of all the restaurants in this area. There was a mistake on our order which could have been an issue for someone with allergies (too minor to need more detail) The waiter without hesitation took it away and had it freshly re-made. All of it, from scratch. To perfection. They also comped it, which I wouldn't have really deemed necessary (it's rough on a kitchen because they have to make two meals, both for free) We left a generous tip to kind of pay something back. Would definitely eat here again. Pizza was cracking....
