1 adult and 2 kids (12 & 6). Ordered at 8pm food did not arrive till 9.45pm with no explanation despite seeing the energy sapping from the kids sitting waiting for their dinner. Eventually the waiter brought cold plates out, which I queried and I got a shrug back....I was told there is no way to heat up the plates!
The samosa was frozen and freshly cooked and had a yellow filling, never seen a samosa like this in my entire life. The chicken was raw and chewy for both our mains and very oily. We could not eat the food. The kids were hungry and upset. After the wait with hungry and tired kids there was little option but to get them fed elsewhere so we left the food and asked for the bill.
We then waited for 20mins for the bill, which I challenged politely...I was told it was a busy night and they only had one chef, as a gesture of goodwill they took off one main and one naan. Utter joke!
In a nutshell we paid for our time to sit there and wait for a microwave dinner. š¤¢š¤š
Why was I not told upon arrival you only have one chef and the wait will be lengthy? Had I known I would have come back another night. The reason I suspect is because grabbing customers money is vital, whilst playing at running an authentic Punjabi restaurant (when in fact you are not even Punjabi as you all spoke Gujarati amongst yourselves). In other words the food ain't authentic neither are the ingredients. Frozen meats and curry paste from jars for gullible tourists spending their hard earned money.
Don't be fooled by the 5* reviews, there are numerous better and AUTHENTIC Indian restaurants in the locality. I would not send my mother in law with Kim Jong-un to this dump.
I paid for 'my time' to sit in the restaurant whilst 4 members of staff pacified customers as they knew full well they only had one waiter and they elected not to be honest and upfront.
A final piece of advice is to look beyond the cheap price against this place as you will get what you pay for......give this place a big swerve and move on. Nothing to see here folks.
Big fail as restaurant owners, go back to remedial class and brush up on your basics and learn to operate with integrity...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came into this restaurant as a fellow Indian, not expecting any special treatment, but I also didnāt expect to be outright disrespected. From the moment we walked in, the so-called owner or manager made it clear that we were not welcome.
When we entered, no one bothered to open the door for usānot an issue in itself, but what followed made it clear that we were being treated differently. As we walked in, I noticed the man at the till roll his eyes or pull a face, which I initially brushed off, thinking I was overanalyzing. However, he didnāt even acknowledge us, let alone greet us. A waiter eventually seated us, but the contrast in service became glaringly obvious when two separate groups of white customers walked in. The same manager who ignored us suddenly sprang into actionārushing to open the door, greeting them warmly, telling them they could āsit anywhere they like,ā and giving them an over-the-top friendly welcome.
Throughout our meal, we observed the same pattern. Every time a white group left, the staff made it a point to open the door, wave them off, and thank them for coming. When it was our turn to leave? Nothing. Not a word, not a glance. I had to open the door myself while they stood there like we were invisible.
The blatant difference in treatment was undeniable and disgusting. If this is how you choose to run your businessāby favoring white customers and disrespecting people of your own backgroundāthen you should be ashamed. I wouldnāt spend another penny here, and Iād advise anyone who values basic respect to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Indian food, but this was by far the worst I've ever had. The onion bhaji's weren't just burnt, they were like charcoal. We ordered poppadoms as a starter, but instead they arrived after a 45-minute wait with half of the mains (minus the rice). We asked for the rice to be brought out so we could get started with the mains and were told "yes". But after almost 30 mins of waiting (and our food now cold), I asked again for the rice and was shouted at. Apparently, the rice would arrive whenever the last main was ready (even though that person had ordered naans and didn't want rice).
The food itself was extremely bland, which I never thought I would say about Indian food. The meat was all overcooked and terribly dry (even the lamb). I asked for my curry to be "medium spicy", but it was about as spicy as a Greek yoghurt.
The service was horrible. They speak great English, they're just terrible at running a restaurant. Every time we tried to order something, the waiter would start taking the order, then wander off while we were in mid-sentence. It was like something out of...
