Sunset Beach Club — Restaurant in Albufeira

We went to sunset for a crepe and waffle at around 9 o’clock at night, we were seated and the menu was given to us. Nobody came over to take an order after 25 minutes, the staff were walking around but just kept walking past the table so I got up to ask a member of staff if we could order. We asked if we could order some food, the guy was unbelievably rude, he didn’t take out a pen to take the order he just stood there staring at us which was strange and kept saying you want to order food? He then started laughing in a sarcastic manner really bizarre! It was clear he didn’t want to take a food order from us and was just laughing in our faces, made us feel uncomfortable so we left. This place would be very well suited to small groups (perhaps two) as they clearly struggled with a larger order; food arrived cold after an interminable wait, with no explanation or apology. Staff we encountered - with the singular exception of our main waiter - were brusque to the point of rude.

We could clearly tell that the food was of high quality - the ayole and barbeque sauces were a particular high point - but it was hard to get a solid read, as every dish was so tepid, that had we not been ravenous, more than two of us would have refused it.

This experience probably won't stop us returning in a smaller party, at which point this review...

Service was terrible. Except for the lovely man who brought us to our table. We waited a good while to get served, along with a few other tables who were waiting too, no apology or anything for the wait. The wait staff dealing with us couldn't even smile at us or act in a friendly manner at all, they just took orders, slammed drinks down and walked off. Food was overpriced for what it was, but we expected the higher price cause of the beach location, which is fab. But the tiny portion of pasta I was served didn't even close to fill me and the whole experience overall was disappointing. I'd encourage the staff to go through some customer...
