John's Café - Angra do Heroísmo — Restaurant in Angra do Heroísmo

My husband and I stopped here for lunch due to the positive reviews, however we were not impressed. Service to take our orders was a bit slow which isn't a big deal. I ordered the chicken soup and spinach quiche (sliced salted tart) and my husband ordered the bolo levedo with chicken. I wish we took a photo of the food. My husband's bolo levedo contained no discernible traces of chicken when we opened the two slices of the bread. It was mostly lettuce and tomatoes. We joked that it was a bolo levedo with salad. My quiche was delicious but tiny compared to some other quiches we've had which were double the size with giant chunks of chicken or tuna for the same cost. The chicken soup had a few shreds of chicken but was mostly rice and broth with no other vegetables. We sat out on the patio as the cafe itself is quite small and did not enjoy the second hand smoke. A great spot to watch the world go by. Very friendly, professional service and kind people. I enjoyed sitting here with a cold beer and sandwich. A simple but lovely...
