While traveling from Toronto, we had the pleasure of dining at Portofino Ristorante in Aveiro. The experience was truly delightful! We ordered the vegetarian penne pasta and the veg pizza bruschetta, paired with a lovely red wine. The flavors were incredibly authentic, showcasing the charm of Italian cuisine.
Although the servers didn’t speak English, the owner or manager graciously stepped in to help us navigate the menu and offered excellent vegetarian options. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome despite the language barrier.
The restaurant’s decor is adorable, adding to the cozy and inviting atmosphere. Conveniently located just across from our hotel, it was the perfect spot for dinner. We were too full to try dessert, but judging by the quality of the food, I’m sure it would’ve been amazing.
If you’re looking for Italian cuisine with vegetarian options in Aveiro, Portofino Ristorante is the place to go! Highly...

The place was cozy; the waitresses were warm and very informative. The only con I found was that they don't have an English menu, but it is not a big problem because they happily answered our questions whenever we needed explanations.
The food was nice. We ordered beer, mint tea, pizza, and lasagna (regular and cod). My friend said the regular lasagna was amazing, but for me, the cod lasagna was not that tasty (but I think it only depends on preference).
Overall, highly...
Read moreTried two of the most popular dishes and they're possibly the worst version of each I've ever had. I don't like to leave bad ratings, I appreciate the work people have done but I have to give honest feedback: The chicken parmigiana and the lasagna are lamentable Lasagna is dominated by cream which makes it super heavy and impossible to eat as a meal. The cream flavor also starts to get rough without enough acid to cut through it. The chicken parm is very badly cooked chicken with a weird boiled flavor and then the rest of the taste is just ham. I would love to give the place another try and check some different dishes but this was so bad I don't...
