Very bad experience with customer service

So we were not too hungry and we passed away the city and found this place with some traditional pancakes. So it is perfect for some snack as a light dinner.

As we sat down, the waiter came with olives, bread and butter, and we only wanted the olives because we were still full from our big and late lunch. So he was already a bit grumpy and repeated like no butter no bread? My friend said we were not hungry.... and then we ordered 2 pancakes and drinks and the waiter was super grumpy and said this is a restaurant.... I was already upset by his attitude and I was also asking if it's not ok, we can paddy for the olive and then just leave. My husband thought we should just say, and the grumpy waiter repeated like 3 times it's a restaurant but on the other hand he said they can do it but gave a grumpy face. I had never experienced unfriendly customer service in Portugal so far but this is definitely the first time.

It was a farce from beginning to end. None of the waits could speak English. We were using Google Translate. The waiter who took our order seemed very angry at everyone. He was also coughing and sneezing on our table while taking the order. We ordered starters, they never arrived, they gave us our mains only. The food was tasteless and very, very oily. On the bill they charged us for an extra dish that we never ordered and when we told them the waiter huffed and went to get another bill. No apologies nothing. We took it with a pinch of salt and laughed it off, but stay away if you want to have...

Primeiramente, devo dizer que o restaurante em questão foi escolhido com algum ceticismo pois existiam poucas análises para uma classificação fidedigna do local. Verdade é que o restaurante, à altura da redação desta análise, tem 4 anos de existência. Quando entramos, fomos recebidos pela amabilidade exímia dos funcionários que tornaram esta visita a Aveiro memorável. Foram extremamente prestáveis durante todo o almoço e tomaram o cuidado de perceber, durante toda a refeição, se necessitávamos de algo mais. Um exemplo a seguir no mundo da restauração. O ambiente, apesar de pequeno, é aconchegante. A sala tem uma disposição que permite um corredor para a circulação, pecando apenas pela proximidade à porta de entrada, que fazia frio. Relembro, no entanto, que os funcionários faziam questão de estarem atentos para que tal não acontecesse por muito tempo. A mobília não grita última moda mas é confortável e agradável à vista, assim como a decoração. Não é muito barulhento e permite uma conversa normal com as companhias. A comida estava muito boa. Comi um Bacalhau no forno à Tertúlia e estava delicioso. Peca um pouco por se tornar cansativo pelo sal (assim como acontece com o comum Bacalhau à Brás) mas ainda assim, muito bom (12,5€). O prato do dia era bacalhau e puré de batata que estava igualmente delicioso e não era tão pesado no sal (10€). A apresentação dos pratos e as respetivas quantidades estavam excelentes para o preço pedido pela refeição. Como sobremesa, a oferta não é grande. No entanto, têm Tripas de Aveiro feitas na hora que combinam muito bem com o café. Aconselho a de doce de ovos para os apreciadores. No geral, fiquei agradavelmente surpreendido. Um bom...
