Outstanding , this family runned small cozy restaurant. I’d say all you need is patience. The place has just a few tables. It’s very common to have to queue to get a table. So did we , 15-20 min we waited. Menu itself is completely in Portugese, but they have an extra page providing basic translations for the matching dishes they serve on their “daily menu”. It might differ from time to time. We ordered a small bottle of red wine for two , one vegetable soup, grilled squid served with vegetables and fries and white fish with vegetables and potatoes. As dessert their well known “Portugese” tiramisu and crème brûlée and two coffee. Portions can be ordered per 1 or 2 persons with slightly difference in price but all indicated on their menu.
I really want to say that the waiters here are the most friendly and attentive people we met on our trip in Portugal. At the beginning the woman did remark that her English might not be as good. Well it was perfect! Keep the...
Read moreGreat choice to eat! We’ve been in Aveiro for 1 day. Found the place thanks to Tripadvisor recommendation and can’t agree more on this choice! The place might look rather simple but beauty is in simplicity. Nice and cozy place, runs by family. Super welcome staff. Gives all recommendations and advice on dishes also. Delicious food! We ordered 1/2 of chicken soup, 1/2 of creamy codfish comes with some salad and 1 portion of veal steak, which comes with rice, fried egg, french fries! For 3adults it’s more than enough! My 16yo brother said the food is as tasty as at grandma’s, which is highest compliment! Once you visit this place you will understand it couldn’t be more perfect than this. Unfortunately, didn’t have any cash with us, so if you want to tip, please consider bringing cash.
Wish this nice place great luck...
Read moreWe just had an amazing traditional homemade Portuguese meal at a family run restaurant. It was our best meal in Portugal so far. To start we had a warm bun with butter, we had a bottle of green wine and a main meal which was meant to share between two people. The main meal was very generous in portion, and a reasonable price, we had grilled cod, potatoes, carrots, turnip tops and olives. We finished the evening with a chocolate mousse and caramel custard. The menu was in Portuguese, we were provided a menu that had a second page that helped with the translation. We were fortunate the owners son, Paulo, was at the restaurant this weekend and was very gracious in providing his help in choosing our meal. We appreciated the care that went into the preparation of our meal and ensuring that we were satisfied with our...
