Baía — Restaurant in Cascais

The hotel is in an amazing location, the rooms have been updated and nice especially with a water view. I've stayed here several times for workshops. They have a bar and a restaurant with great views, the food has always been tip notch, that being said, the service is very slow, even my Portuguese friends complain so, it's not cultural, the service is inconsistent and not always with a smile. Some days you order the house wine and it's €5 the next day they charge you€7, and they don't like it if you complain. This place looks nice from outside, we came with a small group and we asked to have 2 tables put together, while there was other tables put together. We asked and they said only those tables can be put together which made no sense but we compromised and had 2 tables 5 /6ft apart. Then my daughter was starving and asked for a sandwich and the waitress said ok. We ordered a bunch off sangria l/water etc. after of 20 min of waiting I went up to her and got attitude and said no and gave me a menu.. we were furious. This place was a really great spot to end a beach day! The patio dining overlooked the town and the water, as well as the Eurocup viewing site. We got there at 7:00 and they told us we couldn’t eat until 7:30 but we could sit and have drinks. We sat and they let us look at the menu and we ordered right at 7:30. The food came quickly. We got bread to share which came with flavored butter, oil with balsamic, and olives. I ordered the shrimp risotto which was delicious and passed around the table.
