First we ordered olives with bread and butter. These were large uncut loaves of dry bread (it was unclear how to eat it). The olives were bitter. We said so. We had to ask the waiter to taste it so he could understand what we were talking about. And they brought us other olives. They were also bitter. We refused them. We ordered the main courses of octopus with vegetables and paella with seafood. The octopus with vegetables was tasteless and without salt and the vegetables were cold. The paella was with crushed pieces of shell. It was really scary to eat and painful for teeth!!! The paella was not suitable for consumption. I almost swallowed pieces of shell a couple of times. The paella tasted so-so. Which is also important.

The waiters tried to ignore us and just nodded their heads at our comments, agreeing that it was sad. After that, no one else approached us. We had to take the initiative and arrange for coffee and desserts at the restaurant's expense. We ordered tiramisu and cheesecake and were brought... ice cream! From the supermarket. Which is just very far from cheesecake and tiramisu.

The food from this restaurant doesn't taste worth the money! This place is not worth your attention if you want to spend a good evening and enjoy the...

A lot of the restaurants in the area were busy so we ended up just choosing the next one that had a decent vegetarian option that had a space and it ended up being FLAVOUR.

Not sure where to start but I'll try and condense this into bullet points;

the vegetable paella had some "flavour" but it just seemed like regular rice with boiled vegetables rather than an actual paella. my partner has fried fish and chips. The fish was good but the salad it came with was nothing more than shredded leaves with plain sweetcorn dumped on top. staff lacked any urgency to take our order and seemed to lack basic customer service skills. We had to seek out every interaction and that was difficult. there were two of us sat at a table for four and it was continuously used as storage to dump extra cutlery, condiments and even rubbish at one point. at one point, who I assume to be the manager, haphazardly dragged a full wheelie bin through the restaurant. Out and back in. I was in awe.

It was one of the cheaper restaurants around and it...

Flavour Restaurant – Cascais

We were walking along the main street in Cascais and decided to stop at this restaurant without checking any reviews first — unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake.

It’s a small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are fairly standard for the area. However, the service was extremely slow — even though there were only three other tables, we waited a very long time for our food.

When the food finally arrived, it looked good visually, but the quality was disappointing. I ordered the sea bass, which smelled strongly unpleasant — almost like spoiled fish — and tasted just as bad. It was completely inedible. Thankfully, my husband had ordered the codfish, which was much better and actually enjoyable, so I ended up eating some of his instead.

Overall, it was not a good experience. The slow service and the poor quality of the fish made it a place I wouldn’t return to. I recommend looking elsewhere in Cascais — there are many great spots with fresher seafood and...

I visited this restaurant with my friend and was immediately delighted by Luis’s warm and welcoming hospitality. His pleasant demeanor convinced us to stay for lunch and we’re so glad we did! I ordered the espeto with shrimp and squid, which was absolutely delicious - the seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. My friend had the lamb chops and loved them as well. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food served. What made the afternoon even more special was the lovely conversation we had with Luis and his colleague and they offered us a delicious Porto wine! They were genuinely friendly and created such a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has a great ambiance, and the location is perfect for people-watching - we enjoyed observing the pedestrians strolling by while we lunched. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for traditional Portuguese food, fair prices, and genuinely friendly service in a charming setting. Adele
