I started my meal with the carpaccio, which was some of the best I've ever had. The meat was sliced paper-thin and was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The flavor was also incredible, with a perfect balance of savory and salty notes.

Unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience at La Contessa which was disappointing as everything else we tried on that street has been amazing. They specialise in “raw” food which we then expect good quality ingredients and preparation (as no cooking).

The tuna tartare was a funny grey colour and slightly “old” tasting and the white fish cerviche was far too sour and not well balanced at all.

Steak tartare was good but didn’t have a lot of flavour. The beef sandwich we ordered took 1 hour 15 mins to arrive by which time we had eaten everything else. It was quite good but overall the experience for us was spoiled by then. Caipirinhas average.

I have been to La Contessa a few times and it never disappoints. The food is very fresh (not only the meat/fish but also the toast and endive). If you like very fresh healthy food (that is also filling), you must try the house carpaccio and the Asian Tartare (yummy in my tummy)! Everything you order pairs perfectly with some wine or beer. The outside seating creates a great ambiance. Comparing to other restaurants in the area the waiting was normal, and the staff is friendly.
