Residente – A Flavorful Journey in the Heart of Cascais
Located on one of the busiest and most vibrant food streets in Cascais, Residente strikes a great balance between a local Portuguese feel and an international vibe. Our dinner was a truly positive experience, marked by excellent flavors, thoughtful variety, and warm service.
Starters set the tone beautifully: Croquetas – Outstanding! Creamy, rich, and honestly better than many I’ve had in Spain. Prawn Tempura – Light, crispy, and full of flavor. A fantastic way to start the meal.
Mains: 🍤🐟 Muqueca de Peixe e Camarão – Smooth, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. 🐙 Arroz de Polvo – A highlight of the evening. The octopus was perfectly tender, and the rice was rich and well-balanced. 🐟 Bacalhau à Brás – Cooked to perfection, traditional yet refined. Entrecôte – Unfortunately, this was the only miss. The meat was rubbery, and even after being sent back for more cooking, it remained underwhelming compared to the rest of the meal.
Desserts were a great finale: 🍫 Bolo de Mousse de Chocolate with Salted Caramel – Deeply indulgent and perfectly balanced. ☕ Tiramisu – Classic, creamy, and very well done.
The atmosphere is stylish and modern, though being seated indoors, the music was too loud at times. We had to ask twice to lower the volume, but to the staff’s credit, they were very friendly and attentive, always proactive in addressing our requests.
Overall, Residente is a great spot to enjoy a diverse, flavorful meal in Cascais. Just a small tweak on the acoustics and steak prep, and it would be flawless. Highly...

Our evening was made even more memorable by our waitress—who, as it turns out, is also the owner. Her passion for food was evident in every recommendation, every explanation of a dish, and every detail of the service. It's rare to find someone who so clearly loves what they do, and it brought an incredible energy to the whole experience.
The food and drinks? Absolutely outstanding. Every plate was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing both creativity and quality ingredients. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the wine list had a thoughtful selection that paired perfectly with the dishes.
Residente isn't just a restaurant—it’s a reflection of someone’s love for the culinary world, and it shows. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in a space that feels as welcoming as it is exciting.

Read moreMy partner and I went to this restaurant together and we had shrimp tempura to start which was okay, although a little cold. We also waited 35 mins for our starter, however our server did explain it would take some time as the kitchen was very busy. We were then served our mains before our starter plates had been cleared, we both got the burger and were very disappointed. Although the meat was hot everything else in the burger was not, as we both cut into our burgers we were upset to see both our burgers completely raw on the inside. Upon seeing this, we notified the server, he apologised profusely and said he would tell the kitchen. When we received our burgers again (the same ones with bites taken out of them) they were still not cooked to a point where they were okay to eat. We then asked for the bill and left. The only good part about our night was our server Manuel, who was very kind and apologised many times for the food. It was unfortunate as it seemed to be a nice place, but served food in what seemed to be a rushed fashion. They are also very understaffed, as from what we could see there was only 3 people working...
